Ironton wanted to play tackle in a 7 on 7 pretty much. Portsmouth kid hit out of bounds (in a 7 on 7 to the point where he got knicked up) later they also wanted to tackle, in a 7 on 7. Couldn’t keep hands off of the Portsmouth kids heads. Wasn’t incidental, Portsmouth kid got tackled and threw the ball at the kid who tackled him and from there things escalated. Portsmouth was down 22-15 and driving with 1:30 left in the finals when things escalated fwiw. That’s Ironton for you though…

Re: OVC 7 on 7
Well since you were told obviously you weren't there but curious as to what Portsmouth would've been celebrating?? They didn't win and I doubt they ran for an hour afterwards either, seen Ironton in the 7-7s they push past the rules really do those things in a real game you get penalties. Pass interference against a WR is a first down and 15 yard penalty, not start the downs over and the ball doesn't move like their rules in 7-7 so when they get beat they grab guys shirts/jerseys. I wasn't there for what happened against Portsmouth so I won't speak on that but I have seen Ironton in their 7-7 mode and defensively they're not playing within the rules of a actual game by any stretch of the imagination. What I thought was extremely strange was how this team was that can walk on water had to stoop to that type of play, guess it's just the kids though and not the coaching. I found that to be VERY interesting, props to Portsmouth for not backing down and my guess is Portsmouth will be the team that can't wait for week 10XandOs wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 10:19 pmI was told Ironton stayed on the field after the incident and ran for almost an hour while Portsmouth was celebrating. I think you know what energy you’re going to get from Ironton week 10. All of this is speculation. How do we know Portsmouth wasn’t instigating the whole thing. Ironton has played in probably 30 7 on 7 games this summer and the only issue is vs. PortsmouthPTrojan59 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 10:56 pmWhy would this be any motivation for them? Didn’t say Portsmouth would win the game, but once again let’s see that tough guy energy when the pads are on down in Portsmouth week 10. It’s easy to act tough and start a fight in a 7 on 7, no repercussions, week 10 there is. I’m not shocked though, that’s just the brand of football they play. Hard, undisciplined football, part of the reason they haven’t won state during that period you just mentioned. So much “homegrown” talent and yet the “tough guys” have the exact same amount of state titles the last 7 years as Portsmouth. No reason Ironton should be losing to Portsmouth when they have double the roster yearly Portsmouth has, and of course they always have some key pieces move in.Bfan99 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 2:50 amI’m glad Portsmouth will be looking forward to week 10, hopefully they show some energy when the pads are on. Re: OVC 7 on 7
How do we know? I was there that’s how I know lmao. I highly doubt Portsmouth is the only issue. When you play in a 7 on 7 and can’t follow the rules I’d say there’s probably some other teams not so happy with getting hit out of bounds, getting hands to the face and getting tackled in a glorified game of two hand touch.XandOs wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 7:42 amI think you know what energy you’re going to get from Ironton week 10. I didn’t say they did, but they have 57 times, tied 8. The last time being in 2018 when Ironton blew a massive halftime lead that win ultimately got Portsmouth into the playoffs for the first time in 11 years.XandOs wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 8:28 amWhen did they lose to Portsmouth?PTrojan59 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 7:43 amDidn’t say Portsmouth would win the game, but once again let’s see that tough guy energy when the pads are on down in Portsmouth week 10. Now am I misreading that somehow?? Because the way that reads and that is 100% copied from The Ironton FIghting Tigers Facebook page that's how I read it, if you can clarify sounds good maybe I'm misunderstanding it somehow.

That was from a fan page not the team affiliated page. The team affiliated page has posted nothing about the OVC 7 on 7.

Re: OVC 7 on 7
I actually watched the 7v7. Portsmouth 2nd possession an Ironton DB made a play on the ball “touching” the Trojan during his catch. He was not ruled down by the ref allowing Portsmouth to run into the endzone. Portsmouth’s next Offensive possession (The one the fight Occurred in)
The Ironton defender and him collided you can call it a tackle if you want to, but it wasn’t really that…. Then the Portsmouth player through the ball at the the Ironton defenders helmet, which caused that young man to get in the Portsmouth players face. Then some shoving occurred and all hell broke loose.
Also Portsmouth wasn’t “driving” down the field. It was 2nd down and they hadn’t even made it to the “first down” mark yet.
Ironton did run after the 7v7 and there was some taunting and laughing coming from their players toward the Ironton ones while they were running on the field.
I can’t say if they ran for an hour, it did take me about 20mins to exit the stadium and they were running the whole time.

Portsmouth players and fanbase have always displayed poor conduct. Nothing new. Only difference these days is they are TRASH on the field. Use to be good a LONG time ago. 🗑

Lol Ironton is the trashiest athletic program around. Used to be they just played dirty, took cheap shots and had uncle Bobby and cousin Mike as the refs at home. Now they have to do those things while taking kids from other schools. Then don’t even get me started on that putrid fan base like yourself and the other idiots on here or the tigers den Facebook page.TigerBlood00 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 5:33 pm Portsmouth players and fanbase have always displayed poor conduct. After reading all this, if I was Portsmouths Coach , I would post all this in locker room and everyday have players read that they are crybabies, they are Trash, they are soft and irrevelant, fans has mighty loud mouths, have always displayed poor conduct. Wow, I would say if this doesnt motivate, then somethings wrong. Week 10, mark it down as game of the week in Southern Ohio and if I read right its in Portsmouth.
