I was reading on Facebook they won the lineman challenge but I think they do that every year anyway. It also said they played really well most the time but had some learning moments.

Any word on the numbers in the weight room (new strength trainer this season) , conditioning ? other 7 on 7 results ? ... I really hate seeing a "Logan football thread" clear down at the bottom of the 1st page, ready to be pushed into FB oblivion ... How does QB1 Carson Tootle look in the 7 on 7's ?

My guys have said that QB1 has looked good and can really sling it. Logan had a 7 v 7 with the Big Red of Parkersburg yesterday I think and all that were mentioned earlier in this thread are back for Logan in 2024. Logan has a solid core of skilled players and QB play will be key with a new and inexperienced signal caller. I am interested to see what tweaks will come with the offense (if any) with a new OC and a kid who can run and throw at QB.

Grad, when you say "new and inexperienced signal caller" I'm assuming you mean the OC? You said everybody was back so I'm assuming that's what you meant. Tootle will have to cut down on the ints this year. Those are killer! With a year under his belt playing with older and faster kids I expect he will have a better grasp of when you throw it and when to take off. He is a good runner and can make a DC worry about game planning. I just hope they get out of that wing-t with the new OC. With a taller athletic QB under center now it should be doable.

No, I meant the quarterback. He didn’t play the whole year last year so in my opinion that makes him inexperienced. If he started every game and had success and I would say yeah he probably would be warranted as being an experienced quarterback, but he played sparingly throughout the season and was never really given a full-time starting role so he’s only a sophomore and he’s definitely inexperienced in my opinion. But that doesn’t mean the kid doesn’t have talent because he does and he’s been to a ton of camps this summer and everybody has said he looks real good so far in the summer, so I hope they can let him use his strengths on offense.

How did we look at Westfall? I am excited to see what the new look offense can do with a fresh voice and Tootle taking a step this year. However, will the head man allow a fresh voice to speak louder than his?? That is the question.
Go Chiefs! Beat Jackson!

I'm hearing great things about Coach Payne and his work with the office. He's embracing the job and bring a lot of great ideas to the office.

Logan will still be in a wing-t but I expect it to often look more like Gallipolis in 2012 when Wade Jarrell ran for over 1,000 yards and passed for 2,000 out of it.

Empty sets. Trips with a single back. Etc. Lot's on the table.

I think Coach Eddy will be a lot more hands off on the offense other than coaching the offensive line.

Pretty sure he said last year in an interview he would let the OC handle the offense, and he would concentrate on defense, so Payne should have a lot of leeway.

It’s clear that overcoming size differences is going to be a major challenge for our team. The OC is tasked with finding a productive combination that leverages our strengths and mitigates any disadvantages. Creativity will be our greatest asset in this endeavor if they can find a winning system.

From strategic planning to on-the-ground execution, every move will require innovative thinking and a willingness to adapt. .

Was talking about this yesterday so Ill say that Logan has several games they can compete in and potentially win this season but they also have some games that Vegas would say theyre just flat underdogs in. I think we have a good group back with alot of battle tested Seniors who can make a difference. Line play with this offense will once again be the biggest key this season in my humble opinion.

Jackson - Underdog, maybe +7 at home though
NY - Bucks are saying they are a year away from a stud football team, Logan -7 on the road
Warren- Chiefs -10 at home
Pick Central- First new league OCC game against an always powerful Tigers team, Logan +21
Newark- Chiefs will be battle tested at week 5, Logan -3 on the road
Reynoldsburg- Another athletic football team to face, on the road Logan +14
Lancaster- The Gales come back to Logan for the first time in a minute, so much history, Battle for 33, Logan -7 at home
Canal Winchester 11-2 -Deep playoff run last year, on the road, Logan +10
Groveport- Winnable game I think for Logan and if they can stay healthy thru that gauntlet leading to this one, could sneak out with a W. Logan -3
Teays Valley- Senior's finale at home, in a game Logan really could of won last year; Logan -7

This is similar to my prediction here that Logan wins 2 and if lucky ,3 games. I like wins with NY and Warren. In OCC, I project their best chance at a win is Groveport or TV. They might play with some others, but a young QB and stiff upgrade in competition leaves them short in their first year in the league. Bigger concern is their D. That’s the Achilles Heal. That and staying healthy

Fair assessment. I'm not good at laying out spreads, but I do think the games sort of go into "buckets."

Winnable - N-Y, Warren, TV

Reach wins - Jackson, Newark

Tough/Need luck - Reynoldsburg, Lancaster, Canal Winchester, Groveport

Upset of the century: Pickerington Central

Three wins would have Logan in playoff contention. Four would probably be a playoff lock.

I think the program's goal is the playoffs this year. So you can base success/failure on reaching that goal IMO.
