Re: OT: McKenzie Long
If you have the talent to win the state junior sprinting titles….you are an athlete that has the ability to win state titles….which she did not at Pickerington, she always got beat by Abby Steiner.quizcap11 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2024 8:13 pmThat’s a crazy argument. Where’d she get her training from? Don’t think it was Ironton. She wouldn’t have touched Ole Miss is she stayed at Ironton and that’s a factTigerBlood00 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 7:27 pmIdk my guy. I keep wondering why I scroll down her fb and she keep shoutin out Ironton but not a word about columbus or pickerington or anywhere else in seo? After she qualified and posted her first thank yous were to friends and fam in Ironton. "Yes, I am a native." Her words, not mine.RBH23 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 7:08 pm
Not jealous at all. I think this is fantastic, and I think most from Burg would agree. Wish her the best!!
However, applying yours and Larry Fine’s opinions on transfers, she’s 100% Pickerington. Isn’t that the logic you apply to kids that transfer to Ironton for football?
All that said Ironton is looking pretty good these days. An olympian and multi natl champion. A 2nd mr ohio watchlist candidate in football. Hopefully burg softball can do something again cause I think the community has lost hope with everything else.
The big schools all have track and field qualifying standards for every single event and cross country. If you hit those recruiting standards and your coach gets your name out there….you can go to Ole Miss. I personally know this from my last 6 weeks of coaching at a school way less known that Ironton.
Re: OT: McKenzie Long
Sorry if I confused anyone.
8 runners made the finals and will all race each other in one final race. McKenzie has the 6th best time going into it.
The track expectation is that she’s had too many races on her legs compared to her top competitors that are perfectly primed. Medaling, while not out of the question is a bit of a long shot but she’s in the conversation and will have the chance for the race of her life.
Southern Ohio hope…you go girl we couldn’t be more proud of you. She is racing in the OLYMPIC FINALS, of one of the big track events. Already beyond belief what she’s achieved this year.
