Not sure if West played some of there starters. Not that it would have made a difference to the result but worth noting. My biggest question mark is our defense which will be extremely young.

It looked like everyone dressed played on both sides. Ironton is platooning this year. Looked to have an offense and a defense. Could play huge dividends with that schedule.

I was told Parker and woods were not going to play but I don’t know if that was true. I wasn’t able to make it. No doubt we will have most guys going both ways. For sure

That scheduling is A Masterpiece for growth BOTH physically & mentally , & clever insightfulness for ALL aspects of the game. In an “INDEPENDENT SCHEDULING SCENARIO”, the first year as such for decades, it also fuels the fire for MORE to join & broaden the importance of longevity..

MasterClass on scheduling.

Will pay dividends.

Gotta execute @ a high level & Finally eliminate the lack of discipline focus!!!

That’s the ! POINT OF IT ALL!!!

Any Scrimmage Results?
I heard Burg 5-1 over Portsmouth. Don’t know the details.
I’d say something like 4-1 or 5-1 Burg during varsity. First possession Portsmouth scored on rather easy. I think Burg scored once during the first varsity session. JV whatever, second varsity session they scored 3-4 times, twice on big plays. I’d probably count one less for a block in the back that was pretty bad. Wouldn’t say either team looked great, but also not that they looked bad. No Heiland for Portsmouth. Not sure if Burg sat anyone or how watered down things were on either side. No fights though so that’s a plus lol
No fights? Well that sounds boring. LOL!!

Burg scored 3 times on the first varsity session would have been 4 if it wasn't for the horse collar tackle at the 1 yd line and also burgs backup qb was out also and he is pretty darn good

West lost big offensive pieces to graduation and are going to be green and young at the skill. Good news they return their line. My guess is they come in 2nd in SOC to burg, but they are D6 so should be seasoned for a nice playoff run.

Not playing this year. Told he is focusing on baseball.

Burg needs Rucker to stay healthy because right now, the backup appears to be a freshman.

Yeah, backup QB not playing from what I hear. Great kid from a great family who probably making right decision in focusing solely on baseball. He’ll be playing D1 college baseball somewhere.

As for the now backup QB, he has a higher ceiling than any QB currently on Burg’s roster. Regardless though, he not ready as a freshman. Sophomore year, hmmmmmm….*

West did play everyone. They showed a lot grit and some good signs against a really good Ironton, but they also showed their lack of experience.

This team if put in the right position to win will do just that, Win and make a run come playoff time. It’s up to the sidelines to make the right calls and adjustments to let the talent show.

Unioto and LE seemed pretty even with maybe Unioto having a slight edge. Both teams seemed to rotate way more than a usual scrimmage. Unioto looked very good up front and Long looked solid and I think he will get better. Cutright and Hoops looked good and had some big plays. Uniotos Achilles heel will be their secondary as they gave up some big plays but I heard they had 1-2 starters out. Logan Elm had a very good receiver

Seems like a bold statement for a staff that has helped their players accumulate 19 wins in 2 seasons along with a conference title first since 2008. I’m sure they will continue to put the boys in a great position to succeed with their resume. Lack of experience might slow down the process but the Senators are in great hands.

Going to keep an eye on Warren. This team has been down too long. Would like to see them get a win in the playoffs this year.
