Spent the past year talking smack. Not much left to say at this point.

Plus, we’ve taken your advice on ignoring the troll. That has reduced the smack talk a significant amount.

As for the game, IHS could win by 2+ scores, Burg could win in a nail biter, or anything in between could happen.

Many have it nailed. Wheelersburg isn’t winning a shootout and knows it. They’ll try to run it, if they can they can win. If they can’t they’re in trouble. Finishing drives might be tough. Ironton should be able to move it consistently but turnovers and other self inflicted mistakes can keep them down.

Josh Johnson didn’t play last scrimmage. Tigers need him Friday. Him and Terry in the secondary would pretty much end any passing threat Wheelersburg could muster.

Agree. Burg has athletes to be a good passing team, but not Terry and Johnson good.

Btw, looking at the results since 2000 (that’s as far back as JJhuddle goes):

At Ironton:
- IHS averages 21 points
- Burg 14 points

At Burg:
- IHS averages 17 points
- Burg 20 points

Most IHS has ever scored at Burg is 32; Burg scored 27 that game.

With Pendleton, he has only coached at Burg twice scoring 6pts and 12pts.

Both teams typically play good D. Plus, this is the first game of the season with neither being in top form which helps to explain the low scoring.

Will be interesting to see if this game breaks significantly from the averages, as many are predicting, or if this game plays out like most IHS-Burg openers.

Im interested in Ironton's defense against Burgs run game. Ironton has struggled to stop between the tackle running in the past.
