Since it looks like Schreck will be starting out as QB1 (and I’m sure they have certain packages/plays for Edwards at QB), what does Edwards role look like? Wide receiver or a hybrid offensive role capable of playing multiple positions?

Was it last season that Terry had an 81 yard TD on burg?
What else did he do in that game outside of that. If I recall the other touchdown was a big run broken off by the RB which was only other touchdown
He didn't have to do much. 81 yards to the crib.

You have his stats for the rest of the game? Appears he didn’t do much else on the scoreboard as far as it went considering that was one of their only 2 touchdowns

So two Ironton players broke loose from the burg "corral" then, correct?
You must not be comprehending what I said. Burg can corral Terry and make others beat them as happened last year when the RB broke off a big run for 6. I didn’t say burg had to corral the entire team. I said they will corral Terry meaning someone else for Ironton will need to step up again

I’m thinking he will have a zone read package with Terry in motion or an RPO type look.

Ironton’s coaches did the best job of bottling up Terry last year. If that kid doesn’t touch the ball 10 or more times a game the whole staff should be fired.

Agreed. He didn’t touch the ball the last 3 drives of the playoff game against prep last year. That’s malpractice.

Wr & Rb. Lots of weapons. Edwards will likely be 2nd fastest kid on field fri night.

Gonna take a strong effort out of the pirates to win this game. Burg maybe be too green defensively at this point but like clockwork they will progress as the season goes. Burg teams peak late.

If burg can limit big plays, they will be in this one.

Normally id agree burg peaks late but over the last few seasons the results havent really reflected any late peak. I think all teams "get better" as in game reps add up. Its nothing extroidinarily specific to burg going on. Sounds good though.

100% right he needs to be the focal point in this game. you get the ball to your best players and let them make plays

Yes, on YouTube.

It’s posted somewhere in this thread. Believe the Burg Sports Network.

Last year, I predicted 17-10; got the IHS score but was off on the Burg number. Didn’t expect Burg to score much with a sophomore QB or Ironton given all they lost in 2022. Game played out as expected.

This year looks different. Burg has a returning starter at QB and the game is at home, but team is young and the D, as you said, is green. As for IHS, they return many starters and have some serious skilled players.

So expect this year to be higher scoring with Burg around 20 and IHS between 28-35. IHS experience and numerous player makers will be the difference. Plus, I think Kasky will clean up some of the issues IHS has had with play calling.

Of course one team could go on an epic turnover meltdown (ie 2021), then who knows what the final score will be.

Games like this is what Friday Nights are all about. After all the hyperbole, banter, and in some cases reading comprehension ignorance, this game fills seats and always produces as advertised.

Fantastic50 predicts a 6 point tiger victory...gonna be a tough one for the young Pirate defense. Have to defend the edges much better than they did in the Raceland scrimmage to stay close. Can't wait to find out!

This is a different Ironton team this year.
Speed all over the field and strong on both lines.
And they are deep.
And I will still go to the fact they have a true offensive coordinator and I think that makes this very dangerous Ironton team.

Are they going to run a different offense?

I can’t see burg scoring more than 14pts on this years returning Ironton defense. The defense has several players that only play defense and they can rotate 1-2 deep at every position to stay fresh. Schreck has looked really good in both scrimmages throwing the ball, plus winning several 7v7 competitions and getting chemistry with the WR’s is huge. The 3 headed monster at RB is arguably the best in the state with Williams, Copas and the big bruiser between the tackles Graves at 6’2 225lbs. The WR crew is really good with Terry, Edwards, Roach and Baker all had TDs in both scrimmages, If Burg doubles Terry other players will shine. OL is returning everyone expect for Patterson. This senior group is hungry and has played a lot of games including several playing in the state game. I look for Ironton to win comfortably 34-10
