Terry is a play maker and made a impact Burg is a good team and will win the SOC and go7-3 they played tough Ironton was pressuring every play.
Good game both teams
I thought Ironton had a shot at 35 pts (off 2), but I expected more from Burg O; had them at 17.

They had some success with the run in the first half, but refused to stick with it. First Drive int was an example of the coaches refusing to stay with the run!

But the nail in the coffin came with 5 minutes left in the first half. Burg had a chance to at least run some serious time off the clock; game was 7-7 at that point. Instead, back to back pass plays to start the drive. That was definitely the beginning of the end.

Truly unbelievable how the O coaches at Burg can’t learn from their mistakes. It is remarkable.

Ironton had less penalties than I anticipated, although that first drive was horrendous and they very likely missed out on a score from the block in the back. Defense looked pretty good.

I expected a bit more from Burg on D although it seems they’re a bit green this year. Rucker is very elusive. Was also surprised at the play calling when it felt like they were starting to gash Ironton on some runs and then got away from it.

Both teams held onto the ball fairly well. Hope both teams stay healthy the rest of the season.

Go Tigers!

From what I witnessed this evening, 7-3 is a very generous prediction. I see them losing the other 3 non-conference games so that is 4 losses there. Not sure why they didn’t try to utilize Evans more at wide out? Rucker is the best runner but takes a lot of hits, and our freshman QB is the only back up from what I understand. Defense is really small as well and Ironton just wore us down!

Ironton is definitely the better team right now Burg is very young and inexperienced I think by the end of the year they will be alot better like they usually are and I do agree with another poster on here about Burgs play calling Burg was moving the ball sticking to the run but I'm not a coach or claim to be one but congrats to Ironton hope to meet you again in the playoffs

Terry will be the best player on the field for most of the season for Ironton. He was fun to watch.

What happened to Elijah Brown being the main back for Burg? He played the whole game on defense. Hall kid ran hard but just doesn't have that breakaway speed and I thought they needed to pound Emnett up in there more.

Burg couldn't get the ball to Evan or McGraw all night

Tough game on the road next week for Burg as they travel to Cincinnati McNicholas.

Ironton discipline looked much better. Also no moments where o thought “has Pendleton lost his mind?” IHS coaches did a great job.

Ironton is loaded this year and the first game both teams are wanting to come out healthy and find a identity.
penalties was a wash on both sides Burg will be ok you can't run every play or pass every play we know that.
I hated Ironton ran a roll out play it seemed and didn't let the QB play from the pocket.
But it's for a reason they did not.
It's the first game of the season both teams could have did better but both teams could have been worse.
I can see Burg going 7-3 easily they are a good team no doubt tough schedule no doubt but a good team.

Terry has to stay healthy and ironton could have a chance to make it back to state. Defensively ironton was better last year. Burg playing a lot of newbies on defense and it showed. I thought they did some good things. Burg depth an issue this year. I think they need to go old school offensively.

Brown is banged up. I believe his ankle. Coaches decided not to play him at RB.

McNich will be tough. Lost 18-16 to Steubenville.

Also heard that HP beat Pickerington Central 24-21. Was the first game in Pick Central’s new stadium.

Burg isn’t winning the region, but they do have a good team. Not having an offensive identity is getting ridiculous.

HP versus IHS should be a dandy.

Burg couldn’t contain Terry and it showed tonight. Ironton realized they have the best player south of Columbus and got him involved

Terry needs to stay healthy I agree but Edwards is in the wing Carmon is to young players with talent among others.
This maybe the year Ironton does not rely on a single player like in the past.

Yeah but he makes you have to scheme against him which means you have to have two deep at all time. Helps the running game, and the underneath passing. Terry not on that field changes Ironton immensely. Tanner Holden for burg in 2017 did the same thing.

harvest prep is loaded with speed no doubt but I will take Ironton this team is truly loaded and tonight they didn't ever show how talented they are.
First game of the season neither team wants to show much they just want to come out healthy and make the playoffs.

Ironton was overall better last year but Terry is exceptional. He can win some when they need it.

A win on the road against Pick Central is impressive.

That said, haven’t seen HP play so no idea how good they are.

Burg has regressed the last few years. Coaching has passed them by. Offence is terrible. You don't need a stop watch for this bunch use a hour meter. Time to pull a Portsmouth and dodge big name teams.

Or you make serious changes on the O side! It’s time.
