Week 2: Morgan @ Warren
Week 2: Morgan @ Warren
Neither team got off to the start they wanted to start the season. Warren needs to figure out the defensive line situation or it will be a disappointing season. Sealey was up and down but he’ll get it figured out. Morgan has had their number the last few years, but Nicewanger and Searl are gone. Their program is trending in a positive direction, so this game is by no means a walk in the park. Cressey, Pepper, and Carr were bright spots last week. The slow starts to games have to stop, we aren’t good enough to beat anyone by spotting them multiple scores.

What was your take on Morgan? I haven’t seen anything on them other than knowing they lost some personnel.

Morgan running all over Warren’s defense, their secondary, and the Warriors lineman about to be Raided by the Morgan Raiders.

Fort scrimmaged Morgan at the Jambo. Fort scored on 4 of 5 drives only time they didn’t score they fumbled on Morgan 20. 22 runs hard for Morgan but they really struggled overall vs the Cadets. They have a good Wr in Ponchak. They had 3 first downs in 4 drives. They did have a kick return TD and long TD pass. If Fort played Morgan it be like 48-20 or 49-14. Then again maybe they didn’t show everything.a-trainsalomone wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 2:49 pm Morgan running all over Warren’s defense, their secondary, and the Warriors lineman about to be Raided by the Morgan Raiders.
Re: Week 2: Morgan @ Warren
I honestly think the Warriors win this one by 2-3 scores and I highly doubt Morgan is going to run all over Warren's defense. The Circleville score was surprising, but I know very little about them and it sounds like they could be much improved. Marietta had plenty of opportunities to put Morgan away early, but failed to finish drives. Credit goes to the Raider defense. If they bend but don't break again, they will have a chance. Just think in the end, Warren has too many weapons.
Re: Week 2: Morgan @ Warren
I'll take Warren in this one, but if Warrens refuses to mix up the defensive front and get out of the 3 man some, they will get trapped to death between the tackles. Thus giving up 1st downs this will keep Warrens offense on the sidelines. If the defense gets the stops Warren offense will be too much.

Warren is making a habit of giving away games they should won. I was impressed with how Morgan played vs Marietta. Warren has to make some adjustments defensively, or this physical morgan team is going to run all over them.
I want to pick Warren to win this one, but I just can't trust them at this point. Also, the warrior faithful have to make more of an impact. Warren has zero home field advantage. Good attendance numbers, but the quietest fans around. I've never said this about a football game before, but the Warren PA announcer has to be creative and do more to get the crowd involved. Can't believe I just typed that lol

I’ve thought this for a long time about the fans. Great people all around, but not very intense fans for some reason.Bucknuts88 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 7:41 pm Warren is making a habit of giving away games they should won. Totally agree with your take on the game. Until they can string together a couple Ws in close games, it’s going to be hard to feel totally confident. On paper, we’re better than Morgan at most spots. But they have an advantage that’s huge - their O Line vs our DLine. I have no doubt Morgan will come to play.

Warren should win this one by 12 or so. If not, more challenges than a quiet crowd going on there.beg003 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 11:33 pmI’ve thought this for a long time about the fans. Re: Week 2: Morgan @ Warren
Going to a Warren game is like going to a Browns game, high expectations every year but sit there and say, “here we go again” and “maybe next year”. Warren fans have no problem getting loud in the Convo. Why? Winning does that! When they consistently start winning more than 4-5 games a year, their fans will get loud. With that said, they “should” even their record at 1-1 this week, but I thought they’d be 1-0 like everyone else last week.Bucknuts88 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 7:41 pm Warren is making a habit of giving away games they should won. Re: Week 2: Morgan @ Warren
Warren will take this one 24-21. Still not their best performance but was better compared to last week. This didn’t feel like a 3 point game. In my opinion, Warren controlled the flow much more than Morgan. Morgan’s offense only scored twice, the other being on a KOR. Eric Carr was the man tonight. Going to be, and already is, a really good player. 4 and 22 are nice players for Morgan.
