Re: Cincinnati Reds 2024
Mathematically it is possible, but it looks like it will take 86 wins to claim a wild card. The Reds would need to finish 28-15 and pass four teams to get there. The Reds pitching is up to it but the team's .230 batting, worst in the NL, is not.

Matt McClain is a major let down for the Reds again this year, one good hitter

Re: Cincinnati Reds 2024
The question now is how soon do the Reds shut down Greene, Lodolo, and Abbott to save their arms for 2025. Greene is at 143 innings, Abbott 133, and Lodolo is at 110 but is becoming ineffective. 150 innings seem to be the new standard for starters . So will we see DL stints for these guys for minor things?

Reds need to sign him as a coach and go as far to activate him for the last home stand so fans can pay their respect for his career in Cincinnati.

Re: Cincinnati Reds 2024
With the Reds out of contention and the limited roster expansion date of September 1st approaching, should the Reds go ahead and cut players they have no plans for in 2025 and use the DL to shutdown any walking wounded starters. The idea is to use the remaining schedule as an early spring training session. Repopulate the roster with Collier's, Preece's, and Lowder's to see if they are ready to contribute next season.
