Burg at McNichols
Re: Burg at McNichols
Mcnick has a really fast def usually there best players are their two safeties. Old school cover two and they come up and hit. I wouldn’t count out burg but this is gonna be a real test. When you play big red in Death Valley and it’s a two point game that is impressive.

Re: Burg at McNichols
Maybee they have a new OC gonna call his plays this week. Then after week 2 game the old Coach's can critique his play calling. Should be an interesting matchup this week for Wheelersburg. Then week 3 game and it starts all over again. Week 4 against Nortwest should make all right again.
Re: Burg at McNichols
Not going to get into details, but many Burg fans are not happy with what they are seeing; this is not a one game issue. Coaches need to figure out the O asap!Prime Time wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 3:20 pm Maybee they have a new OC gonna call his plays this week. Re: Burg at McNichols
No tiger got the tongue. 1-4 is realistic. You got Harvest Prep at Pickerington Central the end of September. Gonna be a rough road till you get into SOC play but Waverly will give them all they want along with Valley. When they let LARRY Hall walk away the old school left.. That's why I enjoy watching Jackson. Old school football.. hope he wins at Green. Burg won in 2017. Kids had a different mentality. The Burg kids are a great bunch but things change over time and if you don't change with it then you get left behind. Just what I see happening. Go Burg and represent. You always do.

Things never as good or bad as they seem. I think we'll see Burg offense look much improved this week. Not calling a Burg win, but this will be a close game.*

This then would be a perfect time then to interject your and all the fans plans for the offense then. Only 1 game played , so try and help with the issues you all see. You have Thursday and until game time to try and to come up with your remedy's. Why wait to a 1-4 start maybe a 4-1 start could still be done Good Luck!
Re: Burg at McNichols
Not a one game issue though they haven’t been able to do anything offensively against good teams since holden left. D is fine, they were outgunned Friday and offense certainly didn’t do them any favors , they will figure it out like they always do. O seems to figure out exactly what they have to do to lose games instead of figuring out what they need to do to win themPrime Time wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 5:14 pm This then would be a perfect time then to interject your and all the fans plans for the offense then. Well there’s no holden walking into the locker room in the next few yrs, if ever so someone should figure it out That is unless we turn into ironton and start going out and getting those kids every year. That would certainly helpPrime Time wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 5:14 pm This then would be a perfect time then to interject your and all the fans plans for the offense then. The Burg's "O" has no consistency. They don't sustain drives or have a certain set of bread and butter plays the team is really good at executing. Yes, it was Ironton, but they didn't adapt after halftime. The "D" got wore out. They hung with them till midway through the second quarter. You change or get left behind. Thats what I see. Go Pirates and get a hard-earned victory.
Re: Burg at McNichols
No, the perfect time to change would have been a decade ago when these problems started to arise. The issues with the offense are not new and simply have not been addressed; were covered up during the Holden/Matthews years.Prime Time wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 5:14 pm This then would be a perfect time then to interject your and all the fans plans for the offense then. I know the culture at Burg extremely well. Excellence is expected in academics and athletics with football playing a major role in this. So those making the decisions at the school will not tolerate lack of improvement and mediocre play from the football program (specifically the offense). Too much money involved to allow that.

Re: Burg at McNichols
I am an Ironton fan but I can fix Burgs offense.
Pretty simple: I use the QB and two or 3 RBs and run a power run philosphy and lightly mix in some INTERMEDIATE play action as needed. Draw up and repeat about 7 to 10 plays that are effective and effecient and I line up behind my line and dare teams to stop it and play ball and clock control.
Also: O line needs to lose a little weight and get a little faster. We can work on that. The conditioning needs to be better.
And MOST importantly, Id prefer a 50 man roster that is committed to football as a YEAR ROUND sport instead of a 75 man roster with 40 kids who are iffy or part timers.
That'll do.

I would also run a hurry up , at least part of the time. Call 2 plays at once.RBH23 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 12:44 pmI prefer not to respond to this guy, but right is right, and he’s right on with his comments.Jawnjkang98 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 10:22 am I am an Ironton fan but I can fix Burgs offense.

Re: Burg at McNichols
Not sold on the pirates this year. Look for this to be 35 - 14 loss for Burg. Just doesn't seem to be a typical burg team this year and I feel like they may lose 1 or 2 games in the SOC this year. However, could be wrong. Every year Burg seems like they could have a down year, they somehow put it all together.
Re: Burg at McNichols
so you dont think 1-13 since 2019 against Ironton, jackson and prep is good enough remember were a pendleton turning into curt clifford for a half away from being 0-14RBH23 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 4:00 pmNot going to get into details, but many Burg fans are not happy with what they are seeing; this is not a one game issue.
