Week 2 Chesapeake (1-0) at Minford (0-1)

Post by CuckooNest »

Chesapeake comes off a 37-28 W from visiting D7 Symmes Valley.

Minford went on the road for a 28-12 L from Rock Hill.

What numbers does Chesapeake have out? Toss up game of the week maybe?

Muletown by 2? If they don't get this one they may go winless.

Minford played hard in the Rock Hill game. they have some good looking young players. Just have to limit the negative plays like turnovers and missed tackles which killed them against Rock Hill. No idea what Peake has but Minford just needs to aim to keep getting better and limit those mistakes and I think they can earn a W here.

Not sure what Peake has this year but I’ve seen minford and I’ll take Peake by 7.

Give Jordan Michael time at Minford I think he will turn the program around. He will get the kids to buy in. Tough cards he was dealt in year one. Tough when you have low numbers a brand new staff and lose coaches prior to the season starting too. Minford is in good hands.

However I think the Peake will get to 2-0 this week with a win over Minford. Peake has better depth and more experienced kids. Peake will be chasing 3-0 again this year heading into OVC play, will add another game without Ironton too. Lots to play for at Chesapeake

It will be tight. Minford did some good things vs RH but the mistakes especially the ones gifting RH great field position in the first half which led to 14 Redmen points were the nail in the coffin. In the 1st Q it appeared that if Minford QB doesn’t lose his footing, that could have been a huge play on the screen, then who knows where the game goes from there. I do think Minford needs to go more single back spread, spacing was a lot better in the 4th. I’ll take Minford by 6 at home.

Chesapeake has some weapons and a big line. They also had a few starters out last week with covid, if they are back this week I’ll take Chesapeake. The panthers need to clean up their silly penalties, that is the same thing that has plagued them the last 5yrs. They are not disciplined on the field and that’s going to lose them a few games on its own.

Can we just say they had a few starters out sick last week? Or have we replaced Sick with the word Covid?

Why are you offended by the word COVID?

Thanks for bringing something constructive and useful to this thread… Had they tested positive for flu then I would have put flu. When somebody breaks a bone do we just say “they are out with a broken bone”? NO! You usually include said broken bone.
Back to topic, if Peake is 100% then I think they are a little better than Rock Hill.

OVC vs SOC, even though it's only the second game of the season, the Falcons need a win bigtime.

I think this game will be closer than most think. Symmes Valley stayed with Peake till the 4th Quarter. Minford this year is definitely not
a typical Minford team, however if they clean up their play and protect the qb better they could surprise a few people.

Just don't see Minford winning a game this year. Too many decided to jump ship, which is a shame. Football just can't compete with their soccer program now. Hopefully they give this new coach time to build. I hate to say it but I doubt they do.
