Make an accusation you best come with facts. Now are you making an assumption or do you know the kids who transferred in?wobycat wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 2:58 pm Lol. I’m not in meltdown. Burg had the same thing happen right after they won the state championship. Had about 5 transfers come in. 7 th grade went from 1-7 to 7-1 8th grade.
Ask west fans. Two of their studs left. They made t shirts lol. They were not happy
Now not one of those transfers finished at burg. So we will see if the new Ironton kids will stay or not.

No excuses for the mid-west all stars....again. D-1 talent out the wazoo.

Some move ins? Try 8 new kids on the roster. 8!! Burg thumped them in 7th grade, so Pendleton brought in 8 new starters!wobycat wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 4:41 pmI don’t know any of the kids just know they had some move ins.TigersGameDayFan wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 3:35 pmMake an accusation you best come with facts. This one may not sit well with the powers that be. Ironton’s recruiting is definitely out of control.
Re: Week 1 Ironton @ Wheelersburg 2024
No it’s not, and this has definitely received a lot of attention from Burg folks who really didn’t have a beef with Ironton’s current recruiting. Number of options but will see what happens.
Re: Week 1 Ironton @ Wheelersburg 2024
It is 100% fake news. Had two move in. None from Wheelersburg. Two is much less than eight.
Re: Week 1 Ironton @ Wheelersburg 2024
Say what you wish. Woodward’s son plays on this team, so many Burg coaches were in attendance and noticed a different team, and it was more than two.
Regardless, this changed the mind of those at Burg who blew off the recruiting.

You are entitled to be wrong. Going to be interesting to see what comes from this.TigerBob wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 11:50 pmIt was two. Sorry to disappoint.
Also about a month ago, had a small gathering at my house in Cincy with some people from back home. Met one person for the first time who happened to be connected to IHS schools. Before I could even ask, this person told me about what goes on behind the scenes. Nothing really new given it’s what those outside have mostly said. But this person just gave more detail; also the first person I’ve talked with so close to Pendleton and IHS schools.
But I’m sure this person was just lying to me. Nothing really to see here…

Agree with all but one thingTigerBob wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 11:30 am The vast majority of Ironton’s team, at least the ones out there Friday, have gone to Ironton since they started school. A few more who haven’t have family who are Ironton people. Terry moved before his 9th grade year, not like he showed up last week. The only kid who is new was #0, and he wasn’t dominant in this game.
The “recruit” talk is mostly from Wheelersburg people who long for the days of 2013-2018 when Wheelersburg was at their peak as the dominant team in this part of the state and a contender for regional and state trophies on a yearly basis. It’s mostly two posters, one with solid info and one without. Either way it’s just whining about losing.
Wheelersburg’s coaches haven’t gotten worse. They just don’t have the players to do what they did in the past. The first half mostly went their way, they were a freak play from Terry away from being tied or close at the half. But they wore down. Wheelersburg people used to make fun of the endless cramps for Ironton. Now it’s the other way around. When you are getting physically beaten for 4 quarters, it wears on you. There is no amount of running that can prepare you for it.
Wheelersburg will “improve” as the schedule turns from Ironton and Jackson to Oak Hill and Northwest. But I don’t think anyone from Ironton would fear a regional rematch of this one.
Burg wont improve they will just look better against weaker comp. Jackson wins. Prep will embarass them. They are trending down. They were not able to scavange any talent from that larger enrollment and the "superior coaching & culture" was just temporary. 13 to 18 is burgs window. Ironton domimates this rivalry and always will.
