After seeing PP vs fairland and it was their first game. A little sloppy. I would expect them to look better week 2 for them. I’ll take Point by 3 scores.

Playing on that cow pasture you never know what might happen. Better tape up those ankles real good fellas. But if it rains you’ll get the stench of the septic floating downstream so you have that added bonus. Plus you’ll get to see skeeters so big the bats 🦇 are even afraid of them. Enjoy.

I know, I was D1 fellas

I'm not sure the Blue Devils will win a game this year. Peake, Rock Hill, and Coal Grove are the only games that look winnable. If they play like they did against Athens, Owen is very much within reach.

Owen? Who's Owen?

Owen Ten, that's who.

Not to sound too much like Randy Marsh from South Park, but gosh, we wouldn't want young men to get yelled at on a football field, would we? Gosh, we certainly don't want them to hear words from their coaches that mommy and daddy probably say a thousand times a week. That would just be a Greek tragedy, wouldn't it?

The teachers union is to blame on this one, the base pay for the entire supplemental packages in the district are laughable. When a qualified coach with any experience comes to replace the coach and realizes that the amount of money to take the job isn’t even close to what a varsity football coach should be paid, they will laugh and rescind their application as fast as the AD can print them off. Anyone with a brain knows that this program has been ran into the ground and that no quality coach is coming in to the rescue unless you hire them as an Assistant AD so that you can pay them more.

You'd think the district would hire the football coach and have him sit in the classroom as a study hall supervisor all day. That's what Penrod did, when I was in HS. Not sure if he taught any subjects when he came back as the HC though.

Missing the point GalliaGuy, you have to pay for someone to coach the team that actually has true coaching experience, not just Jr high and madden skills. It’ll take more than the $5900 supplemental to make this job appealing to quality candidates.

Now throw in an AD salary plus the coaching position and you can make it whatever you want. You could be looking at 75k or more.

I continue to be a little surprised Gallia sees the facilities at Meigs and Point and doesn’t pony up for their own new stadium.
