I see you glossed over my post, honestly probably because it totally shot down everything you said. Stop talking about fit this or fit that, bottom line is where does the kid want to go?? That is ultimately the deciding factor not people on here saying he should've this or he should've that, pretty obvious especially since he stayed for so long that he wanted to go there PERIOD. It's not underselling or overselling any of the bull you're trying to spew it's the want of a kid who has multiple offers and you know what the guy wanted to be a Buckeye.Rza1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 3:21 pm

I didn't gloss over anything...I completely agree with what you're saying. I have no doubt that it was his and nearly any ohio hs football players dream to be a buckeye... and by all measures he had what it took.. what I have been saying is that for all these other kids that are now washed out of where they chose.. and any future kid that has the opportunity to play at the next level... that FIT matters...do you really wanna play? Or do you wanna play zero downs and come back home? why is everyone tryin to make this about me sayin something about carrico...? Lol. And if we're gonna argue I wanna hear your alls defense of all the rest of the bigtime recruits... was it their dream to go half a year somewhere and get some gear an never get a snif of the field? Or do you think they would have rather went to a little smaller school..got on the field..played 4 years....had a blast and got a good education? I'm sure someone will have a dipshit response...but everyone knows that answer. Lol. Cmon guys...

The kid is still going to choose where they want to go and ultimately that's the bottom line.Rza1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 11:15 pmgreygoose wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 7:31 pmI see you glossed over my post, honestly probably because it totally shot down everything you said. And also, just for future reference! Keep your low life arrogance off this board! Penn State couldn't help with WHAT one what SICKOOOOO did! If you want to open up a can of worms! Bring it on!!!!!! GO REID CARRICO! I WISH HIM THE BEST!
Re: Ironton grad and WVU LB Reid Carrico projected at top of Mountaineers LB rotation in WVU 24 depth chart
I view it differently. None of these kids are playing in the NFL, so football needs to be viewed as a means to an end, and that end is an education that results in a good career.Rza1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 3:21 pm

So in picking schools, the education fit, in my opinion, should be the biggest consideration. Can they get the degree they want? What is the education reputation of the school/program? Etc? Football fit is not nearly as important as the education piece.
Example: Burg had a kid play football at Princeton. Graduated and is now CEO of SOMC. Now that’s how you do it!

I noticed he came in late in first quarter. He was listed third on the depth chart so I was kind of surprised he played as much as he did. It looked like he got a little banged up at the end, hopefully nothing too serious.....

I think it is great to see him on the field. People need to quit being haters and be a fan. I for one was impressed to see him go to OSU on full ride. He didn't play but they carry 125 kids on their team and only 11 at a time on the best team in the nation.
Good luck to him and WVU. I will be watching them just to support local talent myself.

Turned the game on against PSU and seen him in on a few tackles. Pretty cool regardless of the depth chart spot or the school that a small town seo kid was making plays on tv against a power house B1G school. Will be looking to catch a few more WVU games this season in hopes to see him producing. Good luck Reid.
Who Dey!

Mr. Carrico is making a contribution. Here is a link to his 2024 stats:

I’ve never met Reid before but I’ve heard so many great things about him. His humility and kindness to other people is just one of his attributes I’ve heard mentioned several times. I went to school with his dad and when Reid was a junior and was in Coal Grove for a basketball game his dad said to me, “he’s just really such a great kid, he’s never caused us any problems.” He went on to say, “and his work ethic, the way he approaches his classes, would make you think he’s failing instead of carrying an A average, he works so hard”
I’ll sure always remember his contributions to Ironton and wish him the best, he deserves it.

Great 14 min interview with Reid posted a few days ago on BlueGoldNews youtube channel. I'm not sure how to post a link on here.
