I thought score would be closer. I actually picked Portsmouth. Trojans need a pass defense bad but OVC for the most part just runs the ball so they will be fine.

Portsmouth simply not very good at defending the pass and very limited in the passing game.

I actually am not that discouraged from this game. GC is a good team, Sammons is really good, also like the RB and Boggs. Portsmouth did some things I liked, Heiland finally broke some long runs. A series where Williams stood in the pocket and threw some nice balls down the field. The Trojans aren’t going to beat anyone by passing, but I like that they’ve been less one dimensional. Secondary hadn’t been tested and it showed today. A lot of work to do there, but a few nice plays on the ball, including a pick. Need to be more physical and wrap up. I noticed the physicality of GC was too much for the Trojans. Luckily for Portsmouth most of the OVC minus Fairland can’t throw the ball. Improve each week and get better from here. Gallia at home next week, need to bounce back with a win. Good luck to Greenup the rest of the way. BTW, the walk from the parking lot to the away side sucked, hate tracks around the field, hate cannons. Man I must be getting old, doing nothing but complaining. Lol

Resumes at 1pm tomorrow. Portsmouth ball driving after Greenup went for it on 4th on the opening drive and didn’t convert. 6ish minutes left in the first quarter
Thanks

Yes and the coach said that before game. Said they will change it up? Well they didn’t!

They almost beat them last year, lost in OT. I think the defense is better this year. What you said in your post holds no weight at all lmao. 3 completely different teams. Portsmouth the best among the 3 mentioned. I’m not saying Portsmouth will win, but the rude awakening part is laughable. You should stick to the SOC chump
You clearly were mistaken. This game was not close. I took in an OVC game and exactly what I said would happen, happened. As for comparing what happened last year, well that’s dumb because they are not the same teams.

Kind of a long way around to get to this conclusion. Not sure what baring Portsmouth and Valley game has on this one. As it stands right now neither team has someone they both have played that you can compare things to. With that said Greenup is no joke and this will be a tough one for Portsmouth. I’ll go with GCHS by 14
Well let me break it down so you can read it. Portsmouth and Valley played a close game. So to me that means they are similar. The same week Greenup plays Coal Grove. Coal Grove was beaten easily by Greenup. The next week Coal Grove beat Valley easily. So if Portsmouth and Valley are similar, CG is better than Valley, Greenup is better than Coal Grove than by deductive reasoning Greenup is better than Portsmouth. Ta Da. Unsurprisingly they are. I don’t know how you pick a better team if they haven’t played common opponents. Maybe just guess.

Portsmouth, Valley, and Coal Grove are same teams: solid defenses and running games, but no passing game. Greenup/Coal Grove game would’ve been closer if Murphy didn’t exit with injury in first quarter.*
