Final 20-14 Unioto
Unioto forced a fumble when Waverly was about to score and then Zickafoose had a long pass to the 5. Coy fumbled in the endzone and Unioto recovered it with about 40 seconds left. Crazy game

Shocker. But record-wise, Waverly still probably where they should be. Sounds like they gotta clean up the line play.*

Poor game management the last 2:47 of the game for Waverly! Good momentum builder for the Tanks!

Strange game, but Unioto made a couple more plays down the stretch.

Both teams really tried to keep a balanced attack to differing results, but Unioto did end up just over 100 yards rushing. Their defense was swarming, but I thought Waverly made some nice adjustments to get back in it.

The snaps were a big issue for Waverly, even when they went under center a couple of times, it was off. The high snaps gave the Unioto line all the extra time they needed.

After last week, I thought this wouldn’t be all that close, but I was pleasantly surprised. Coy was 12-23 for 220 and didn’t have a turnover, which was a nice step forward for him…of course, his center saved him on that fumble into the end zone. Carruth recovered both fumbles in the last 3 minutes.

I think a lot of the snaps maybe Ben griffin at nose caused them some problems. We had an off game vs Amanda, we didn’t look ready to play and they played really hard. We are a good team and I believe we should beat every team we play. Offense made some changes and I think we found a style that works for our guys. As Coy gets more comfortable we are going to get better.

Big win for the Tanks last night. Beating Waverly getting into SVC play at 2-1 is huge. Now time to go defend the SVC crown and the gold ball. Great team win last night Roll Tanks

No, snaps have been a major issue all year for Waverly, notice after the switch there around the 3rd/4th quarter Waverly didn't have a snap going high, prior to the switch waverly had 13 snaps where a QB who's 6-4 had to jump to get the ball. Waverly's OL is just so young and right now they are struggling and not really getting better hopefully the 4th quarter showed the coaches which center to roll with. They have no ability to run the ball and honestly it's probably time to start getting the ball outside of more of those long handoff type throws and let the WRs do the work because running between the tackles just isn't possible not with this line. No idea why Waverly wasn't playing off in that final minute and a half with Unioto not having any TO's.

I don’t like to get on coaching, it’s a lot of work for those guys and most ppl have no idea. The snaps are tuff I’m sure they are trying everyone they can cause you can’t do anything without the snap. If I had to question waverly staff over the years I’ve watched them most of the coaching things I see are on defense. Lack of adjustments made mostly it seems easy for teams to out number you with sceme. Why they ran cover zero I can’t understand. Waverly has some nice players in the back but vs 5 wideouts any team is gonna have at least one mismatch. On offense kind of in the same boat as us looking for a run game. We lost our star back but have the line you guys are breaking in the line and have the backs. In last nights game we took away 84. If I was your staff I would find out what to do to get that kid the ball even if he is doubled. Uniotos staff had a great game plan going in for whatever reason you guys struggle against us in that department. Vs other teams you guys seem to out coach them like Miami trace that one still shocks me. I still think your floor this year is 7-3. Idk bout mt healthy but I don’t think you beat burg. Shouldn’t have trouble with west or anyone else I wouldn’t think

That's probably a pretty good run down honestly, Miami Trace I'll be honest is looking like a fluke more of a week 1 type of win where the special teams and a couple big plays won it. Mt. Healthy will put a running clock on Waverly, if the QB can walk away from that one healthy I'll be shocked those guys just beat on you. Yeah easy to take away a player when you just line him up outside isn't it?? Honestly Waverly doesn't have the RBs either to make the running game, Waverly simply runs the same stuff in between the guards they've done for years and thinks it'll be successful. At this point it's outdated stuff that everyone is used to and a team like Unioto who they play regularly can game plan fairly easy for. Burg will hold Waverly to less than a 100 yards and might not cross the 50 the way things look right now.

Goose I feel like you are kinda knowledgeable about teams, but I see you popping up on threads and pointing fingers at coaches regarding plays. You keep saying stuff about Waverly’s run plays the last few years but they just graduated their all time leading rusher. These guys are coaching 16-17 year old kids who do not always run the play correctly or whatever. Waverly has had a nice run of winning seasons the last few years. I am sure someone with your expertise could contribute to a staff and fix these bad run plays. Maybe you should reach out and help them improve.

You’re probably right, but Knight has it all down 😉. Unioto was shredded by AC last week battling the edges and using misdirection. Waverly didn’t try that at all but at the same time if you can’t get a snap it’s tough to run that stuff. Yeah Hurd was a great runner but last season seen a lot of those yards come against lesser teams. Thanks for following though

Waverly had the ball with under 3 minutes and ran hurry up offense inside the Unioto 30, while Unioto had no timeouts. Snapping the ball with over 20 seconds on play clock while game clock running! This may not have won or lost the game but sometimes whoever makes the right decisions in crunch time helps.
