(0-3) Wheelersburg vs. (2-1) Northwest

Post by The Nature Boy »

The Burg is 0-3 and has played a tougher schedule than most. Northwest has won 2 but their strength of schedule is weak. Of course, any given Friday night any team can be beaten. Does the Burg right the ship or does Northwest's home field advantage do the trick for them? Even at 0-3 I would consider a Northwest victory an upset. Thoughts?

Burg down a few starters in this game. Get on the win column and build. Burg played better against Jackson but needs to get healthy. Should win the next two.

Even at 0-3 burg is the favorite. Running clock and burg goes to 1-3

Northwest’s easy schedule comes to an end. They will struggle from here. Burg wins with a running clock.

I got burg. 35 - 0

What would happen if NW pulled an upset & Burg falls to 0 and 4?

Do the wheels come off? 👀

I think that Burg will pretty much be able to name the final score.

Northwest’s conference schedule and for the rest of the season gets rougher, tougher, much harder. Lot more complicated.

Yes... and Burgs stupid schedule comes to a two game skid prior to Harvest Prep. Smooth sailing from there. Congrats. Don't try to run with Ironton. You're a long distant second.

NW just what the doctor ordered. Lol!

Quick question: when is the last time Wheelersburg started 0-3?

Mohawks score first. Then it’s downhill from there for them.

I asked this on the Burg/Jackson thread someone said 1969. I can’t imagine when the last 0-4 start for Burg was but I SERIOUSLY doubt Northwest will be the ones to pull out a victory

Not sure anyone cares. Attendance way less than a normal Jackson game and it will continue to decrease. This team plays with no heart, is soft and is just painful to watch

This is what will force changes in the program. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I would bet that most of the Ironmen players and their fans were very happy to escape Wheelersburg this past weekend with their narrow victory. Just how important can 1 yard be when it comes to deciding the outcome of a lot of games? Myself, I thought that the Burg played well enough at times, maybe not up to the standards of a lot of the Burg faithful, but with 1 more defensive stop, with 6.4 seconds to go from the 1 yd line, we would be talking about the Burg having a 2-2 record after this upcoming game.

Jackson definitely happy with the W. Wheelersburg played a good hard game. Regardless of what anyone says Burg has an excellent program and a good team. Winning at the Ed isn’t easy. I thought Jackson was the more physical team and that was good to see.

Burg playing, at times, uninspired. NW isn't the typical old NW teams that will just lay down and roll over. They have played much harder the past couple years.
Do I think NW can win this game? No. But they could give Burg some fits if Burg thinks all they have to do is show up and get the W.
Talent wise this should be a good game for Burg to show up, execute and get better. But I wouldn't be surprised if NW hangs around a little bit if Burg doesn't.
Good luck to both teams.

I know of 3 board members who aren’t happy with what they are seeing on the field
