Western Brown vs Jackson.
Styles make fights, I think this will be a barn burner of a game. I might be crazy but I also think that Western Brown would be a good fit in the Frontier.
Re: Western Brown vs Jackson.
Agree that this could very well turn out to be a shootout. Any team that runs a spread offense, and is successful in throwing the ball, can a lot of the time cause the Ironmen a lot of problems. I don't think that WB still has a Novak at QB, but then I know nothing at all about WB. Regardless, I will not be surprised in the least if the game turns into a high scoring affair.Freelobotomy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 1:16 pm Styles make fights, I think this will be a barn burner of a game. Western Brown always seems to give Jackson fits and it is because of that passing attack. Jackson just too much up front and will hammer this one out Jackson by 14

Re: Western Brown vs Jackson.
Last year was a shoot out.. this Western brown team is improved. Honestly it could be a close game or a blow out. But from what I think I know. Wb should compeat and may win. The qb is much improved and the defense is starting to come along.. with that being said defense is still far behind. But improved... if that makes any sense.
Re: Western Brown vs Jackson.
Too far for the FAC. They can play in a lot of sports but wouldn’t want the junior high travel commitments

Re: Western Brown vs Jackson.
Jackson is more of an outlier in the FAC than Western Brown. Wb is much closer to Hillsboro. A little closer to McClain. About the same to Miami Trace and Washington than Jackson is. The only team that would be traveling farther would be Chillicothe. If the FAC expanded, I think WB, Waverly and Unioto would be great options.
As for the game, Jackson should win this one by at least 2-3 scores.

Wb pretty much has been playing I two conferences the past few years. This year they play 5 games against the Frontier and the rest are sbaac games... honestly I like the games vs Frontier opponents. They are very fun games. To me it just seems like better games.

And you still think WB is too far for the FAC?Ironman92 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 8:33 pmYeah…I’m aware of where everyone is locatedDundas wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 6:59 pmJackson is more of an outlier in the FAC than Western Brown. Not 100% sure but I think massie wants out of the sbaac.. courthouse and hillsboro wants out of the FAC. And if hillsboro left I think greenfield would go with them... so the fAC could add Waverly, unioto, and wb.. to me that would be a perfect scenario.
Re: Western Brown vs Jackson.
Vinton County claimed travel distance too far to include Warren Local? Was that real?Dundas wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 11:05 amAnd you still think WB is too far for the FAC?Ironman92 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 8:33 pmYeah…I’m aware of where everyone is locatedDundas wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 6:59 pm

Yes, Western Brown is not a great fit for the FAC. Western Brown has been a fun matchup with Jackson over the years., great respect for each other. Played them in basketball….wasn’t bad but the 80-85 mile bus trip is not great. Jackson to Marietta…bleh, never much of a rival. I would hate to have to extend the travel for the team that already has the most travel by far.
The FAC has been “rumored” to be in trouble since early into year 1. Hillsboro isn’t happy with the league. McClain fits better in the SVC or go wherever Hillsboro goes. Hillsboro interested in the SBAAC. This has said to have been the case every year. Here’s what I see. I teach 12 miles from Hillsboro and have for 27 years. What I have learned is the Hillsboro and Jackson are eerily similar. City, population, establishments, surroundings. Hillsboro and Jackson in most every sport is a pretty strong and growing rivalry. Nearly every sport, big and small. This is year EIGHT of this “likely to fail league” Across the sports it’s quite competitive. Yes Jackson dominates football, Chillicothe soccer and cross country….but as a whole the league is solid and competitive throughout.
The talk about other teams is just 100% moo

Also all these teams leaving…where are they going? Not anywhere in the SE district. They don’t want out of the SE district for tournament and leaving for a SW district league or conference just doesn’t make enough sense to consider.

Re: Western Brown vs Jackson.
I can’t fathom the gate money they’d lose overall and to travel farther. They are good rivals with MT, Boro and McClain…losing Jackson’s gate in several sports would not be optimal in trying to stay afloat in today’s high school sportsFreelobotomy wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 8:49 pm I was told court house was trying to get into the OHC or the SVC.
SVC is 8 teams strong and there is no way that’s happening and even more so without another team also

I understand that forsure. I really don't know if it will happen just what i have been told. Also I think they are going to start scheduling more teams in the OHC. Or atleast Mechanicsburg.
Re: Western Brown vs Jackson.
Feels like a strange direction to go but I’d definitely schedule those schools here and there across the sports a few years before trying.Freelobotomy wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 9:21 pm I understand that forsure. But make zero sense to me…but either does California in the Atlantic Coast Conference

Re: Western Brown vs Jackson.
Haha I completely agree. I was told that the smaller side of the OHC would be a good fit. And as far as hillsboro they would fit right in with the sbaac. I have a feeling some stuff is going to start happening and teams will start to shift. I may be wrong. But as much talk that has surrounded all of the teams going here or over there. Some fire has to be behind the smoke. Becuse ita been talked about way to much. Look at unioto. You figure before to long they will be pushed out of its league. Just becuse of the size of school. It's speculation but it kinda makes sense without trying to bend the circumstances.
