It’s not too often you see a team and you say “different” instead of really good. This team is easily in a different league to this point.fielddaddy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 8:46 pmI do not want to be insulting to the Burg program but even heathy Burg would be a 45 point under dog at this point.wobycat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 8:40 pmNo. Burg is not healthy right now but when they were. They played the first game of the season and both teams feeling each other out.
You really want to go there Ironton put a running clock on Burg in the first game.
You think Burg has evolved that much to be a better game now.
Ironton is a loaded Bear this year and only getting better
Ironton is the real deal and before everyone starts crying the transfer card point is Ironton is simply a beast of a team this year
Ironton vs. St.Francis of NY.

Coming from a burg fan do you think we would have turned down any of the transfers that came to Ironton? I hate hearing that. if they would have wanted to come to wheelersburg I'm sure we would have took them lmao.fielddaddy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 8:46 pmI do not want to be insulting to the Burg program but even heathy Burg would be a 45 point under dog at this point.wobycat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 8:40 pmNo. Burg is not healthy right now but when they were. I'm being disrespectful to any team but I don't see any team stopping Ironton at this point other than their Selfs Harvest Prep would be a under dog at this point.wobycat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 8:48 pmIt’s prep and Ironton in the region. That’s proven by now. Burg would need to be completely healthy at the end to have a chance against either one. Barnesville is an enigma right now. They are blistering everyone but they don’t play anyone. I’m not 100% sold on fairlandLetsBeReal wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 8:44 pmBurg really didn’t look bad either. It didn’t feel like 37-7 difference in the first half. It looked like a game until scary Terry broke it open. But Ironton seems to keep taking leaps forward every week. Now with Johnson back so even better.
My town tv “ ironton won the toss and decided to beat the snot out of St Francis the entire first half”
If Ironton can not win it all this year then they never will.

Some people should keep their mouth shut so the stupidly flowing through their brain doesn't come outdoor all to hear lol. Don't pay attention to this idiot.TigerFella wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 8:07 pmThis team is also ranked #9 in NY on Maxpreps. Do a little research.
As to the game, Itown is the real deal. It doesn't matter who they play at this point. I think they would have beaten Moeller or their opponent today.

You didn’t even beat Jackson and they are down as they have been this year.

Stayed for about a quarter of this “game”. Total mismatch from the start. St. Francis dressed about 29 players. Not sure what New York high school football is like, but that was pretty weak.
Ironton just on a different level against local teams from what I see, but also have played a down Burg team; an average Jackson team; and a down Cabell Midland team. To Ironton’s credit, they are absolutely destroying these teams. But we might not know what Ironton truly has until Regional Finals against HP.
And no, Burg doesn’t want anything to do with Ironton this year, even if completely healthy.*

Ironton is very good, but they aren’t beating Moeller. That’s physically a different animal, especially in the trenches. And although Ironton has serious speed, it’s nothing special compared to what Moeller sees nearly every week. Their schedule is extremely tough for a top tier D1 school!Bleeding Red wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 9:00 pmSome people should keep their mouth shut so the stupidly flowing through their brain doesn't come outdoor all to hear lol. As for the Ironton classic, I’m impressed that Ironton gets teams to this. Herbstreit did something similar but with truly the best teams in the country. Wasn’t able to keep it going financially. So to get teams to travel long distances to southeastern Ohio (not a place many even know exists) is quite the accomplishment. Would be interesting to see the dollars each team gets.

Next week will be the biggest test of the year for sure!
no competition don't gotta compete, I'm already winning this isn't defeat
Re: Ironton vs. St.Francis of NY.
Hartley is typically a physical team which will be good prep for playing the top D5 teams. IHS has the best skill players in D5, but how will they do against the better D5 teams that excel in the trenches and playing more of a physical game? That’s where IHS has lost in the past.MrFirstTake wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 9:15 pm Next week will be the biggest test of the year for sure!

Yep. Plus Moeller has the second-best QB in the state (saying “second” because Montgomery is done.)RBH23 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 9:13 pmIronton is very good, but they aren’t beating Moeller. Just different level: recruit from a 2 million population metro area, massive catholic feeder school system, players whose dad’s played major college ball and some NFL, play against players with the same genetics, all teams on the schedule are top D1/D2 schools, trainers that work (or have worked) for the Reds/Bengals, etc.

oh yeah. It’s a different game. Way more dimension and paper-thin margins for error.RBH23 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 9:38 pmHere’s Moeller’s remaining schedule:formerfcfan wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 9:24 pmYep. Don’t know if larger schools get more or not but I know of a team that was offered 5K this yearRBH23 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 9:13 pmIronton is very good, but they aren’t beating Moeller.
