Week 4: 1-2 Meigs @ 0-3 Vinton County

Post by Dundas »

Meigs travels to Vinton County this Friday as TVC Ohio action begins for 2024. Vinton County is looking for its first win this season as Meigs is looking to end a 2 game losing streak. VC has struggled to score this season while Meigs has been a bit more balanced so far this year. The mauraders may be the favorite coming into this one Friday night and are looking for their first win over Vinton County since a 28-20 win in 2020. The Vikings begin their defense of TVC Ohio Championship from 2023 and must be able to take down Meigs if they want any chance to repeat. The series is tied 20-20 overall. VC won last year 54-0 in Rock Springs.

This is a rebuilding year for VC and new head coaches for both teams. The game will be competitive but I see Meigs getting win number two in a close one score game. Vikings will probably only get 3-4 wins this year unless their offense drastically improves to give their defense some rest. With that said, this is the vikings chance to get win number one of the season and build up some confidence.

I told anyone who would listen including the coach himself that Nolan Yeets shoulda stayed McArthur. Them Pomeroy boys can’t drink no beer. About all them bars in that town is dead.

Not a good look for you Coach. But the reality is someone’s pride is getting in the way. Reach out for advice from previous coach and use it to get a huge win in week one. Then as soon as NFL figures out who the advice is coming from he shuts it down and forbids it being used. What’s that get? Winless ever since. Shameless.

For those wondering the previous coach at VC is 0-4 so far this year. I’m glad to see VC get a win before he did.

That’s jest cuz them McArthur boys smears possum fat on their uniforms. They was so slick it’s no wonder Meigs couldn’t tackle anything.

😂😂 the first 4 teams they’ve played have a combined record of 14-2. And unfortunately, there are no easy wins on the schedule like some of the teams you’re used to seeing. But thanks for following and supporting 😘 Appreciate ya!

Most VC folks want Coach Carper to do well at Z’ville. A 1 win team from a year ago isn’t going to be a 10 win team in one season. He will do the same thing there and elevate them just like he did at VC. As for the Marauder faithful, they’re just upset that even without Coach Carper, they still couldn’t take down the Vikings. You just have to overlook the haters CC!

You do realize that most of those 14 wins are against teams that are winless don’t you? LOL

I didn’t realize that, but I’m not surprised. Also, I’m not “hating, following or supporting.” Just don’t like it when a coach leaves and supposedly the cupboard isn’t bare when in fact the cupboard is bare and that’s one of the reasons they left. So, I was glad that VC got a win before the new team did.

That argument would make sense if Coach Carper left VC for a program that is in a much better position. The fact is, he didn’t. He left a program that is an average team to this point for a team that is well below average. He was courted by Zanesville and he knew what he was taking on. The fact is, it’s a challenge to him. I know this because I have had conversations with him. I’m sure you have not and are only assuming things. Viking Nation will always be grateful for what Coach Carper helped deliver and we will always want him to succeed wherever he may be. Wins and losses do not define a program and TJ did all the little things that no one else had ever done here at VC to create a culture and contribute to the community. A Meigs fans opinion on a former VC coach holds about as much water as a creek in a drought. No need to celebrate failure. That’s what’s wrong with people now days.
