Whitehall comes in winless, but I don't know enough about them or who they've played to make a prediction. This will be an important game for Marietta as the schedule gets more difficult starting week 6 with a Circleville team that already knocked off Warren.

After a bit of a slow start against Claymont, the Tigers looked really good in the second half. Their physicality wore down the Mustangs and Britton and Alexander had some big holes to run through. Really felt like the MHS offense played to its potential for the first time this season. Replicate that this week and the Tigers will be alright.

This game is a little unusual to preview, jmo, because Marietta is 3-1 on a light schedule and Whitehall has been lifeless so far against a slate of opponents who are all either better than or equal to Marietta.

Tiger fans making the trip: for the purposes of returning home, I recommend either downloading the OHGO app, or pay close attention to ODOT’s traffic advisories on lane closures/construction for Friday night. The 270/70 interchange on the east side is currently being redone (they’re eliminating the cloverleaf in favor of a flyover ramp to connect 270s to 70e) and who knows where in that area work will have started by 9pm.

Ah, good advice. I travel the SE part of I-270 at night a few times each week, can confirm about all the orange barrells, I-70 interchange project, plus sudden night-time closures popping up at odd and inconvenient places for annual road and bridge repairs, and being squeezed from 3 lanes to 1 lane without warning. It's that time of year.

Going to the game - Taking the Siri-recommended route of I-77 to I-70 shouldn't be too bad, just keep your eyes open and slow down when you hit Reynoldsburg. You'll probably end up on E. Main going west, and then turn right (north) on Yearling Rd. When you reach the high school, go past the front, and then turn left on the north side of the building, that's the access to the stadium.

Most of the parking is toward the stadium, plus two rows along the back of the building. If you are on the pass list, you'll have to go to the visitor's gate - park near the tennis court, walk past the baseball diamond and along the visitors side of the stadium, and the visitor's booth is there. Regular ticketing can go through closer home side entrance.

Leaving the game - if you go back the same way, just be prepared to be inconvenienced on I-270 going to I-70 east. If you want to avoid that part, an alternate would be to take US 33 instead - when you leave the high school parking lot road, turn right on Yearling for 0.4 mile, then turn right on E Main for 1.5 miles, then turn left on Stelzer Rd for 2 miles - just past I-70, Stelzer becomes US 33 SE, and work your way home from there. Approx 10-15 minutes longer than 70/77, but might be easier for some.

That was 70 west last night after 9. Drove past it coming back from Delaware County. They had it down to one lane about .3 of a mile before the Brice Road exit. The line of standstill traffic went well past S.R. 256.

Just the sight of it gave me the icks. They had two loaded flatbeds in the median shoulder just west of Brice, so I think they’re going to be quite busy on the eastbound side soon with getting the back half of the ramp built up and in position.
