Fairland for sure gonna finish ahead of Burg in Region 19 unless Burg shocks everyone and beats Harvest Prep. Fairland gonna be 9-1 and get 2 home playoff games. Not too many playoff points left for Burg to get in a down year for SOC.*TigerBlood00 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 10:13 pm Fairland is better than Burg this season in region 19. Burg should seriously consider forfeiting the Prep game. would be the best thing for both teamsart_vandelay wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 11:25 pmFairland for sure gonna finish ahead of Burg in Region 19 unless Burg shocks everyone and beats Harvest Prep. Burg will show up ready to play at HP, but sometimes you just don’t have the horses no matter how prepared you are, and this is one of those times. Feels like the Bishop Hartley game from a few years back.fbnut wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 4:15 amBurg should seriously consider forfeiting the Prep game. would be the best thing for both teamsart_vandelay wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 11:25 pmFairland for sure gonna finish ahead of Burg in Region 19 unless Burg shocks everyone and beats Harvest Prep. As for Valley/Burg, Valley is a young team still figuring out how to win. Looking at the second half of schedule, there some wins out there to be had. If they can keep up with Burg early though, this could get real interesting in 4th quarter just like the Waverly and Portsmouth games.*

Burg wins by a lot. And will finish 6-4 and will play coal grove week 11. The coal grove game was just a guess lol. I think burg handles waverly and west. Prep will be the only remaining loss.

Wheelersburg will probably win but Valley will push them a while. It would not surprise me if Burg’s only loss the rest of the way is HP, but is Burg as beat up as people say? I saw McNeil at the pee wee games yesterday on crutches in a knee brace. It doesn’t look like he’s going to be back any time soon for Valley. This really hurts the Valley defense.

One issue is so far this season when the burg loses the game they also lose players. The game following prep you’ll see 3-4 more players standing on the sidelines in street cloths. They are not the toughest group of kids. This is certainly not a coach miller type team as far as toughnesssart_vandelay wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 9:53 amBurg will show up ready to play at HP, but sometimes you just don’t have the horses no matter how prepared you are, and this is one of those times. So, I'm glad Ironton is doing well. Yes, there was a time when Burg was head and shoulders above everyone else. I thought it was cool 2 schools from Southern Ohio brought home state titles in 1989. Coach Hall never lost an SOC game. That's back when the SOC was competitive every year. It seems like it is this year only in a reverse way, backwards. Let's hope all the schools strive to get better. It does come in cycles but no excuses about recruiting or getting kids from some where else. In Central Ohio it is a way of life. The kids go where they can win and have the best chance to go to college. In my mind, no harm in that.

So you admit ironton is having the success they are having because of recruiting but you think that’s ok?The Nature Boy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 1:21 pm So, I'm glad Ironton is doing well. I admit that "homegrown" burg is a soft program. Lmao. Shut that 1 and 3 and two mercy rules a$$ up on this forum till ya beat somebody decent. Lmao. Since Ironton SPANKED the school of "superior coaching & culture" week one got the burg base talking about forfeiting vs teams in their OWN region. Lmao. Burg is all hat and no cattle.fbnut wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 1:27 pmSo you admit ironton is having the success they are having because of recruiting but you think that’s ok?The Nature Boy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 1:21 pm So, I'm glad Ironton is doing well. Burg enjoyed a very small window of being "the program" in SEO. Ironton has done it for DECADES. Comparing these programs is ludicrous. Burg is fairland in Ironton colors. Little sis. 1 and 14 combined vs Ironton, Jackson, Prep over the last 4 seasons. All yap. No jack..Larry Fine wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 1:26 pmOther than Ironton , who in SEO has all these transfers ?The Nature Boy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 1:21 pm So, I'm glad Ironton is doing well. No, I'm saying recruiting and transfers is the way it is now. I always heard Ironton did it by getting jobs for the parents of the kid they wanted to recruit. I never knew if it was true or not but heard that for years and don't really care. I'll root for the Burg win or lose. Unlike fair weather fans of other schools. So, you can shut up about this, that or the other. I don't really care what anybody says. If you went away with your small mindedness, that would be even better fair weather pot stirrer.

Valleys “back up” RB is fast and runs hard. Obviously not having McNeill is tough, but Valleys kids will play hard.
