Week 5: Piketon (3-1) at Zane Trace (1-3)

Post by Bozo »

This has been a good game for about the last 10 years.

Zane Trace showed a physical running game against Adena for their first win of the year. The Pioneers have played some pretty good teams this season in Logan Elm and Waverly. They also lost to North Union who was about the level of the top SVC teams. Two scrimmages against Bloom Carroll and Valley have helped them develop. Injuries have hurt them also, but some of those players are coming back weekly.

If the secondary can play well against the Streaks, they will win this game. Also, a good pass rush against the throwing Streaks. I think that ZT will try to use that physical running game again the week.

It should be a good game in Kinnikinnick on Friday night.

Thoughts?

Here before rolltanks makes up more stuff about the media (what media in this area exists to make predictions) we’re all over Piketon and paint valley to dominate the svc

Zane Trace wins this one

I like Piketon in this one especially if Johnson (Mr. Do it all) is still out. Watched him against Waverly and the kid did it all. Savage for Piketon is starting to get some confidence in running the rock. I think if Piketon goes into game with run first mentality they can open up their passing game a little and win. This year they are a little different, better run team. Piketon 27-21

All you have to do is look at the post on the Svc this year ppl had piketon and paint valley as the top two teams, then look at Sosa and Brock netter and ride the wave guys everyone said the same thing I didn’t make it up

I think ZT scrimmages and non-conference game has prepared them for a game like this. Look for ZT to be physical early and often and try and repeat what they did last year to the streaks. ZT by 7

I think ZT comes into the SVC season ready to go on a run and challenge PV and Unioto for that top spot.
Zane Trace gets out to 2-0 in the SVC this week

If ZT controls the los like they did Friday I agree with you. I think Piketon has the best coach and QB in the conference but games are won in the trenches.

I’d hope he’s the best since he’s coached more varsity football games than the other 7 coaches in the svc put together

Other than Hartley-Ironton, this game may be the best one in Southern Ohio on Friday night.
I think ZT pulls out a close one.

Could the fact that it's a home game for Zane Trace give the Pioneers a slight advantage? I'll go with ZT for that reason alone.

Epic clash between 2 good teams in a crucial Region 19 and a tough Division 5.

You are correct. When I saw that I thought it was wrong.
