BURG DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.

Both Ironton and Burg football teams have a long, sustained history of excellence. Stay grounded in your successes.

As for Valley, do what you're asked to do on every play. You don't need to prove anything to anyone but your coaches and teammates.
Lol! Appears some have Ironton Derangement Syndrome. Burg has fallen way behind Ironton. It is Ironton and then a really distant second of Burg and then all the rest.

Ironton is the big dog....Burg little pup #2 and all his little brothers. Lol!
Little pup #2 has as many state titles as ironton prep
And they wear Orange and Black too. Lol!

I know it is easy to second guess but I didn't like the tush push on 4th and 2 at your own 40 or 45. I felt it was too early in the game

They could have ran that play 100 times it would have failed 100 times that’s just to far to try and get

I thought the punt snap hurt as did not getting that play on the push. The loss of McNeil was big tonight in my opinion. But there wasn’t anything that was making a difference in the big picture of that game. Burg was able to handle Valley’s line better than I expected. Valley’s schedule turns the rest of the way. Valley just didn’t have enough overall and their secondary was really rough again. Lots of young guys back there, I think 2 sophomores or a freshman.

I remember when they played that schedule because they wanted to compete for regional championships. Nothing in those three L’s will benefit them in SOC play.
Really??? Wow, tell that to the 73-7 over last 2 weeks when everyone sit here saying how terrible they were. Some don’t get it.

Isn’t Northwest as big if not bigger than them, they’ll beat Waverly by 28 or more also. What karma?? Burg has been very respectful against these teams they handle with ease, also isn’t Valley sitting on around 50 kids or so. Jeez

These are the comments that make everyone’s point. 73-7 against two of the worst teams in Southern Ohio.

Really in the other thread you just said maybe best team you’ve ever seen for NW. Now you’re calling them one of the worst, very strange wording. You said playing a tough schedule didn’t benefit and now you’re at this point lol.

After seeing what Ironton doing to every other team on their schedule, things not nearly as bad for Burg as it seemed a few weeks back. They’re still the team to beat in SOC, but a step below Ironton and HP. With the right break in seeding (ie stay away from 7-10 seeds), Burg can win a few playoff games, even if on the road.

Valley limited without McNeil, but he’s their best player, so that to be expected. They always play hard though and will pick up some wins in second half of schedule. Also, good move for them in easing up nonconference schedule next season.*

I think the last two weeks would have be 73-7 without the three L’s. And I think Valley and NW are not good (and my falcons are not good either). What I’m saying is the last two weeks may give the pirates a false sense of security that things are suddenly fine and I don’t think that’s the take away from playing two bad teams.

I also think this NW team is the best I have seen. I also think they’re not a very good team in the grand scheme of things. I hope I’m wrong, if they’re a good football team I’m glad Minford just rolled out the worst team they’ve had in almost twenty years and only lost by three scores.

Things can be both/and, not everything is either/or.

Burg currently is the best defense that Ironton has seen. And burgs defense isn’t near one of the best units they’ve had. They just play hard.

Ironton offense is so hard to scout against. Too many players. The way to beat Ironton is have a team that is balanced offensively enough to move ball and keep the ball out of their offense.
