WK 5 Belpre (0-4) @ Beallsville (1-3)

Post by BJCassady »

These 2 teams have played 1 time back in 1996 with Beallsville winning 48-32.

Both programs are trying to rebuild to their former glory. Belpre lost a heartbreaker last week in OT to FH 48-40. They need to reduce their mental and physical mistakes to get their first win of the year.

Beallsville lost their first 3 games of the season by a combined score of 125-0. Those 3 teams have a combined record of 8-4. They got their first win last week vs Hundred, WV (0-3) by a score of 26-8.

Both teams should view this game as a challenge and a strong chance to get a win.

Good luck and good health to both teams.

As always...

Should be a good one much like Belpre's game with F-H. Hope both teams come out of this one healthy as rosters are thin.

I've been to two Belpre games, they've played a much more difficult schedule than Beallsville. If Belpre has no turnovers, minimizes mental errors, and they all play hard, they will win. The long bus ride up there will hopefully not influence how the Golden Eagles players play. That said, I want to wish both teams good luck, and to my long time friend, Beallsville Head Coach Rusty Bondy, a double good luck for your Blue Devils.

Man I feel for Rusty. There’s not a better person who could teach young men football. There’s just no talent there now

I feel for Rusty as well. He doesn't have the numbers to compete in Ohio HS football. Of course, this begs to the question, how much longer should the school system fund a school with 100 to 120 kids in grades 9-12. I think I know the answer, and based on the rumors in Monroe County, the end is near.

Don’t get me started on that subject. Should’ve happened decades ago. I’ve heard rumors of that even longer.

Belpre 34 - 12 Final.

Belpre dressed 21 and Beallsville 18 from my count.

Congratulations to the Belpre players and coaches on the win. They are improving but still have a lot of things to clean up. Getting the win this week and the narrow lose last week should be a confidence booster for them but the back half of the schedule will be tough.

The best thing about the past 2 weeks even though we went 1-1 was the fact that neither game was a running clock. Both teams got must needed game snaps that can't be duplicated.

Hated the drive to Beallsville, first time there, but they have a nice small football field. It would be hard to bus these kids to another building if they would close their school. I can understand the argument on both sides of this issue.

I wish the Blue Devils the best for the rest of the season and hopefully they can pick up a win or 2.

Next up for Belpre, Ironton Rock Hill.

As always...

My spies told me what was being said and going on around there. So I stayed offline and worked more closely to help get my boyz believing again. It paid off too. Hopefully they don’t lose that mo and start listening to the boo birds bout how they can’t beat this or that team. My boyz can do it if they keep on believing. I KNOW they can.

Glad Belpre got their win this year. It will help with playoff points for the Hocking teams.
