Honestly they’re probably right where they should be, really a game ahead no way could they beat MT again. Let’s be real honest they played and barely beat a ZT team without its starting QB and barely held on to win against a Valley team that was missing its best player in McNeil. Burg and Mt Healthy going to be ugly. I think most on the outside just didn’t realize the struggles along the LOS Waverly was going to have this year. Young group that will get better but they have a large group of skilled seniors right now, unfortunate for those guys rarely do you have such a large group of 3 year starters come through and can’t capitalize on that.

Great win for West…they have turned their season around by gutting out 3 straight wins. Hopefully nothing serious with Parker as he’s one of best backs in the area. Passing game still an issue, but they have some upcoming games where they can work on it.

West setting themselves up for a nice playoff run and solid season overall after the slow start.*

Wow!!! It appears these two schools are heading in different directions. As previously stated, West shooked off the poor start with three straight wins. Waverly, on the other hand, has dropped two of three but they do have two running clock games in the next two weeks.

Huge point game here. West jumped all the way up to 4 in the region. Two division wins in a row, followed by a d4 win is a huge helper.

I'm curious how happy was the west side faithful when Waverly decided to get cute on the final play and allow a freshman to make the game tying/winning TD throw?? Crazy to me with what the starter did, and he's a 3 year starter at that with all seniors on the outside he's thrown for 300 in the game and you take the ball out of his hands??? Mind blowing, I don't care if the QB was wide open on the backside you don't put that on a freshman who isn't ready for that type of moment.

Yeah I agree very nice win for West. I’m hearing nothing major with Parker and will probably rest a bit. Defense is getting better and West can definitely throw the ball, They just haven’t needed to, but it’s their if needed.

That's good news on Parker and no West can't throw the ball let's not sit here and say West hasn't needed to when they've lost 2 games by getting blown out so yeah they've needed to and couldn't. So now they've done what they needed to do and that was run it and it's the right call as that's what's got them the W but the passing game doesn't magically appear. Again they've lost 2 games so yes 100% they have needed it and it's not there

You’re right the 1st 2 games were a complete nightmare from all aspects. They were completely shell shocked and out matched all around. It’s really tough to pass when it’s expected, especially with a run heavy style offense add in errant throws and a few drops. They definitely need to get some work, but have shown lately that it’s there.

I was shocked that the ball was not in the hands of the kid who tore us up all night, three yards from tying the game. Shocked. But I will take it.

West QB has a great arm. Potential is there, but we are far off from being able to say we can pass. I do think it is a realistic expectation to get it going though. Especially with a receiver at 6’4.

Hearing good news about Parker returning. Was told West ended up with 499 yards rushing. Bishop with 285. That is a crazy game.

  I think that shocked the entire Waverly faithful and it's one of those looks great if it works but look like fool if it doesn't I've seen the replay of it and it wasn't close. WOW, I heard West was up around 400 but 500 is just crazy. Nice job by Bishop going to be the workhorse next year, really glad to hear Parker is good never want to see anything major for a kids senior year especially.

100% agree he should not have been put in that position at this point. Kid has a bright future ahead of him in all 3 sports.

I was wanting to guess 500 but didn’t want to overshoot. If it was 500 I would say our average was probably closer to 15 a carry. Never seen holes and running lanes like that. Want to give a shout out to a sophomore. Braedon Adkins came in when Parker came out and looked like a vet. He probably stands 5’5 on a good day but came in and ran like a maniac. He had some spin moves and jump cuts that looked next level. Tall task to step up to when your stud goes down. Bishop is a tank.

Well, not sure how many have heard but after what I'm reading on facebook this game sort of garnered a black eye not for the play on the field but by the behavior of kids off of the field. As most have seen Waverly has a Tiger Mascot with the cheerleaders, this young lady needed to use the restroom and went to the home side of the Portsmouth West stands where she was cussed at, pushed and punched by a big group of boys. Apparently the mother spoke with cops at the game and will be contacting Portsmouth West administrators Monday heart goes out to the young lady. For visiting teams going to West sounds like you need to make sure you walk in groups if you're walking over to the home side even if it's just to use the restroom.

As with most things now days this was blown out of proportion rather quickly for some Facebook likes. A group of either 3rd or 4th grade students “attacked” the mascot. Sheriffs were there and told them to stop and that was the end of it. Well then it turned into this mess. Kids still need to behave but for people to keep pushing this narrative really irks me.

Will say parents need to do better. Way too many kids running up and down those bleachers with no awareness are gonna hurt someone. And no matter what age no one should feel threatened at a high school ball game. But from what I was told this was young kids hazing a mascot — turned into a full on assault by a group of high school boys just isn’t true.

You are correct in that there’s way too many just running around. This was more than hazing though when we start talking about hitting and pushing someone. Young lady has bruises and is shaken up but will be ok it’s just something like this is ridiculous.
