I remember when they played that schedule because they wanted to compete for regional championships. Nothing in those three L’s will benefit them in SOC play.
Really??? Wow, tell that to the 73-7 over last 2 weeks when everyone sit here saying how terrible they were. Some don’t get it.
These are the comments that make everyone’s point. 73-7 against two of the worst teams in Southern Ohio.
Softburg fans should be ashamed to show their face. Lol

Burg is on another level when it comes to SOC II play. I wouldn’t say they are ok losing to non conference teams but it gets them ready for the playoffs. First couple of games you’re trying to find out who you are. Once you find your identity then things begin to roll. Burg always gets better as the year goes on. High expectations every year due to the success they have had especially on offense. Offense hasn’t been the same since Holden but that group was different.

Valley well… keep fighting. Coach Crabtree will keep coaching and it will pay off. Anytime you lose a key player especially the kid who was supposed to be QB it throws a damper in things. Not sure what’s at the skilled positions as far as grade level but it’s hard to compete when those guys are young.

Agreed about Burg…I don’t see any of their SOC II games being close as every offense they face in league-play is one-dimensional. As woby said above, they have definitely had more talented defenses over the years, but those kids are playing their tails off on defense, even in the losses.

Great point also about Valley not having their QB1 come out this year. Had he played, I think this season looks alot different for them. And with McNeil basically only playing 2 games due to injury, 0-5 is what you get. But the second half of their schedule is alot more manageable, assuming their kids keep battling.*
