Week 6: Reedsville Eastern @ Waterford
Re: Week 6: Reedsville Eastern @ Waterford
I appreciate how Eastern's fans liven up the board, but the act needs some new material.

Yes they are hard to beat at home

I don’t want to hear no noise about how hard it is to win at Waterford. It ain’t nothing like when my boys played and you couldn’t get a call if your life depended on it. They used them refs that only did Waterford and Belpre and the rest of their games was in Westbygawd. Then my boys started getting screwed at Eastern so we moved to Meigs and found out Wellston was almost as bad as Waterford. But I heard they have some guy hiring all the refs in the TVC now so supposedly it’s better. So we’ll see if this is the best ever Eastern team but I doubt they could beat our 71’ team.

Honestly hard to call this one. Waterford is tough at home and has played a tough schedule. Eastern hasn’t played anyone, but when your team is 5-0 and scoring 40+ points a game, the kids have bought into the program and have confidence. I think it’s going to be a battle.
Waterford - 21
Eastern - 19
Waterford - 21
Eastern - 19

Eagles 35 Cats 31
Don't think the cats got enough in the tank for Tyler Hill and Treyvon Bearhs. These 2 will both go on to play college football someday. Their backfield is too elusive and strong, it'll wear down Waterford's secondary. Leading them the way is junior quarterback Ethan Edwards a proven winner at any level, he is going to take his boys to victory with his leadership in Watertown.

Those waterturds would be lucky to score a touchdown on this eagle defense

Eastern is probably better but it is really tough playing at Waterford. You have to be a lot better than them to get out of there with a win. I’m going with Eastern 20-19 in OT.

Do you have any recollection of Waterford ever cheating or having refs in their back pockets all the years you’ve watched them play? Eastern fans are the most delusional fans in the entire United States lol. How can a team brag about being good when they play a peewee schedule?EasternDspy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 8:47 amCan we stop acting like Eastern is some powerhouse???? Like you barely beat Waterford at home last year. You lost to Caldwell in the playoffs. These teams are very similar talent wise. Waterford has played much better competition coming off a big win. Eastern might win but they are not some super team. Wait until Eastern gets into the D6 playoffs.Steegal wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 8:06 am The question is, will Waterford’s home field “advantage” be enough to make up for how much better Eastern is than them. And that’s hard to gauge. I’m going to say Eastern overcomes all the obstacles and doesn’t miss a beat. It’s great to finally have a coach that knows how to do all the things to build a championship team. Go Eagles!

Tough matchup.
Going with the home team Waterford
Good luck and good health to both teams.

I don't remember the last time Meigs made the playoffs or has been over .500*D1* wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 6:23 pmOne thing for certain is if you’re worried about teams like Waterford you will have no chance of going very far in the playoffs. Might as well stay home and save yourself the embarrassment in the postseason.Steegal wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 8:06 am The question is, will Waterford’s home field “advantage” be enough to make up for how much better Eastern is than them. Talking with some of the guys and hearing that Eastern isn’t too worried about this game. They’re already getting focused on the Wahama game. Hearing a lot of noise from across the river about who’s the best team in the area and it’s really getting the Eagles fired up. I certainly wouldn’t want to be a running back against this defense.

This will be a low scoring game. Waterford plays defense, Eastern hasn't had to play any defense with their cupcake schedule. H2Oford showed their grit last week against NY. I'm going with the Wildcats in this one by 8. The iggles hit the rough patch in their schedule, and come back down to earth.

Thanks for the motivation. This just might be what was needed to get the team back to focusing on this game instead of looking ahead. Much appreciated.Steely Dan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 8:05 pm This will be a low scoring game. Waterford plays defense, Eastern hasn't had to play any defense with their cupcake schedule. If you have to come to a message board to motivate your team, that doesn't speak too highly of your coaching staff.Donnie Hagglethorpe wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 8:57 amThanks for the motivation.
