They looked like the looses are starting to get to them they came out looking like they knew what was about to happen when you lose your star player it can really affect the team mentally they really need to get this win here if they don’t I’m afraid we might be looking at a team that could possibly go 0-10 which should never happenValleyIndian3349 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 11:34 am Oh man. If you asked me about 3 weeks ago what I'd think about this game, I would have said Valley by a lot. but the fact is, despite all we've heard about improvement, they sit at 0-5. I do believe that Valley has drastically improved. At this point last year they were also 0-5 but they had a running clock put on them just about every game. Valley really needs this one. If they want a shot at doing anything postseason, you cannot drop a game like this. The loss of McNeil has hurt. I think it's clear that not having McNeil offensively hurts, but 22 is pretty darn good as a runner too, and they can make things work. Defensively, they are hurting. 33 was the heart of the defense, and they very much need somebody to step up big into his shoes. Valley truly looked good in the close ones against Waverly, Portsmouth, and Coal Grove. They crapped the bed against Piketon-(likely a fluke game)-but just got pounded by Wheelersburg. I don't know what to think of this team. Sometimes they look like they can compete, and they show flashes of great potential. But against Wheelersburg, I saw flashes of that team from last year. I see many pros and cons for both the Indians and the Mohawks. This game will come down to toughness, will, and discipline. Valley 24. Northwest 20.

Re: Northwest at Valley
The loss of McNeil has been big without a doubt. This team isn’t two weeks removed from being a bad penalty from beating Waverly. They were tied with Burg after a quarter and played their worst quarter of the season in the second against the best team they have faced. Northwest is a tough team and it will be a tough game but let’s not act like the records wouldn’t the same if the schedules were flipped.
Valley Indian said hit the nail on the head talking about losing McNeil. The defense took a major hit. 0-5 running clocks last year and 0-5 with 4 quarter losses is a big improvement, just not enough yet.

Re: Northwest at Valley
One thing that I noticed when watching a couple games ago when McNeil got hurt Valley didn’t have any of their offensive players from last year. All new guys at every position. And I couldn’t agree more about not having McNeil! You don’t take a team’s best player and get better. Aaron has really impressed me though. Coach Crabtree and staff have kept them in most games where anyone with a half a brain can see they have some weaknesses.
Re: Northwest at Valley
They had adjusted their offensive play calling the offense they run now is not the same as they did in Portsmouth and coal grove this offense maximizes our strength and that’s running the ball I have been hard on the coach after the coal grove game but I feel if we ran this offense in the start we win at Portsmouth and that coal grove game

I am not really sure what your beef is or who it is with but coming out and scoring on the first series and battling for the entire first quarter before laying down and quitting after a special teams mishap leads to a 15 yard scoring drive and then a fluke 25 yard jump ball being completed (great play by the reciever) without the two false starts on the play being called, led to another 32 yard scoring drive, didn't really look like "they came out looking like they knew what was about to happen." & 0-10 is laughable.. nothing they have shown yet supports the idea that a loss here also results in losses to minford, west, or oak hill... but aside from penalties (lack of discipline) and lots and lack of physicality, what do believe is the cause to this 0-10 possibility?Izladoom wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 5:55 pmThey looked like the looses are starting to get to them they came out looking like they knew what was about to happen when you lose your star player it can really affect the team mentally they really need to get this win here if they don’t I’m afraid we might be looking at a team that could possibly go 0-10 which should never happenValleyIndian3349 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 11:34 am Oh man. Out of the remaining teams I think northwest should be the easiest win so if they can’t beat them I don’t know how they will beat the others

Easier than Minford and Oak Hill? Northwest is a physical and tough team. And I didn’t agree then and I do not agree now, this offense is not any different than it was early in the year. They were run first the entire season. Maybe they have got better at it?

No way Northwest will be easier than Minford and Oak Hill. They got some beasts on their line and going to cause Valley some real problems up front. If McNeil was playing, I’d take Valley by 7-10. But as it stands, this will be a game that could go either way.Izladoom wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 8:20 pmEyesNtheSky wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 8:48 amI am not really sure what your beef is or who it is with but coming out and scoring on the first series and battling for the entire first quarter before laying down and quitting after a special teams mishap leads to a 15 yard scoring drive and then a fluke 25 yard jump ball being completed (great play by the reciever) without the two false starts on the play being called, led to another 32 yard scoring drive, didn't really look like "they came out looking like they knew what was about to happen." & 0-10 is laughable.. nothing they have shown yet supports the idea that a loss here also results in losses to minford, west, or oak hill... but aside from penalties (lack of discipline) and lots and lack of physicality, what do believe is the cause to this 0-10 possibility?Izladoom wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 5:55 pm

Every game from here on out basically a playoff game for both teams if they want a shot at postseason. I think Valley gets it done at home though.*
Re: Northwest at Valley
Game is at 8:00 which should keep it out of the rain. Opens up the pass for Valley who is a better passing team because of their weapons. Indians win it

How many W’s does Valley need to make it? 4-6 looks like the most optimistic with 2-8 or worse not being out of the question.art_vandelay wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 10:24 pm No way Northwest will be easier than Minford and Oak Hill. Does four wins get in even an expanded playoff pool?

I'm guessing it will. Big band competition at Valley tomorrow. Unless it's played at NW, would be tough to reschedule for tomorrow unless it's a 10 am start. They'll probably do what they can to get it in.Jeaux Burreaux wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 4:56 pm Is this going to be played? Nearly every game surrounding has announced by now
