Week 6: Portsmouth West (3-2) @ Minford (1-4)

Post by CuckooNest »

West coming off a big W against Waverly. Seems they may have gotten traction in the right direction now after stumbling early.

Sledding gets tough for Minford these next two weeks. They had trouble in short yardage against NW getting off the field. With West wanting to run the ball they’ll have to figure that out to have a chance.

Guys are playing hard and improving each week. Stay healthy and continue to improve, there’s more winnable games this season, imo.

Should be able to take care of business quick in this one. Hope to get starters out early and rested up. Be a great time to try to devolop a passing attack. Gonna need to start becoming not so 1 dimensional. Doesn’t have to be crazy but Waverly literally stacked 11 in the box. Not gonna be able to do that against teams that can defend the run.

West almost had 500 yards rushing against Waverly. Bishop ran for 280. Adkins for 110. Wroten for 75. West run attack is legit. Talk all you want about a passing game. Team after team stacks the box with 11 and they continue to play their style.

I watched Minford against Rock Hill. They looked like JV football players. I don’t know how they beat oak hill. This could get ugly quick

Being forced to spread out carries will only help them going forward. They are going to be hard to stop! Pass game should get more work the next few weeks. The Defense needs some serious pass coverage work, Maybe they can work together on that?

The Siders will probably pretty much be able to name the score against the Falcons. Better days are ahead for the Falcons, just not this year though.

West should be able to work on the passing game a little after the running game racks up some yards. But regardless, Siders big here. Then we welcome Valley.

Rain all week and 80% chance game day. it is going to be sloppy.
west will probably have a game plan much similar to the hillsboro game, so doubt much passing will be done. west with the much more powerful team, so yeah they win big in this one.

Minford needs to keep playing hard and not looking at scoreboard, and they’ll be fine. But give me West by a score of 34-7. They really starting to put it all together.*

Valiant effort , but west pulled away in the 2nd half. 24-0 last I heard.
