Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
Unless I missed it, I have not heard anybody.Mention the horse collar tackle on fourth down , which extended the drive and they scored a couple of plays later. That cost Ironton big time.

Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
I watched the game on TV last night and was blown away with their size and speed.
Ironton will go far in the playoffs and may win it all.
This is a very good Ironton team and went toe to toe with a true powerhouse last night.
Yes they lost but showed that they are a team to be feared in the playoffs

That Canadian team was huge! Looked like full grown men competing against boys along the lines. Kudos to Ironton for hanging tough in this one. Liked Pendleton going for two at the end.fielddaddy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 12:14 pm I watched the game on TV last night and was blown away with their size and speed.

Also, what was up with Canada’s sophomore backup QB? He comes in and pulls a Johnny Moxon with that throw for a TD. I believe Ironton wins if that play wasn’t made.
Btw, want a good laugh, go back and check out the score predictions for this game.

Ironton may have lost, but this exactly the kind of game they needed to get them prepared for type of games they’ll see in Regional Final and beyond.*

I knew this was a tough game for Ironton I give them kudos for scheduling a team like this.RBH23 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 12:48 pmThat Canadian team was huge! Yes some people on here thought it would be a running clock.
But let me ask this would Burg lose by a point or would they lose by 50 be honest on this I wanted Ironton to win but this is was a team made to to get the next level
Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
It was a good play call #24 was open but the window closed quickly and the QB stared at it instead of throwing it, against good teams windows are much much smaller and that's what happened.

Not sure what Burg has to do with the predictions that were made about this game.fielddaddy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 5:46 pmI knew this was a tough game for Ironton I give them kudos for scheduling a team like this.RBH23 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 12:48 pmThat Canadian team was huge! I found the predictions funny since so few knew nothing about this Canadian team, yet they already had Ironton winning by 40+.
Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
Guy was open as a coach that's all you can ask for, if the QB is late throwing it that's on him as he was covered after holding the ball. You play good teams that's how it works as I've said before I'm sure in practice when they run it he's used to it being wide open and he can stand there and wait.BuckeyeBlood wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 7:20 pmWasn’t a good call, didn’t work because it was a bad call

Went to this game last night- first, Green’s football field and people were absolutely first class. Most people I know from Green are classy, down to earth individuals. Hopefully, they can get someone there to make that program great- they sure have the facilities to make it happen.
Second, this is by far the best football game I’ve seen the past few years. The decision to go for two was great. I hate it when people start questioning a decision of that magnitude, because if it’s converted, would it still be questioned? Ironton is the best team in this area and it ain’t even close. Great game, Tigers! Better to take an L now than in November!

Wildly hate comments like this, it was even stated he asked the kids if they wanted to go for two to win and they all agreed. Didn’t take it out of their hands, they wanted to go for the win. You have no clue. Stop it.The “Basement88” wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 8:38 am Horrible horrible decision to go for it to win the game. Took the game right out of the kids hand becuz the coach wanted to be greedy.

I may be wrong. Again, I may be wrong, but I swear on another sports board a few years ago someone was saying that Canada North and a few other Canada programs are 2-year prep schools after regular high school. The players are 18-20 years old. Use the prep school as a spring board to college football in the USA. I think it was when they played Zanesville. Again, I might be off on some of the details.
Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
Yes they do offer a post graduate program. In Canada you can play HS sports up until 21 years old. Covid also caused issues as the kids in Canada had to repeat a grade. Most if not all the kids on the field the other night for Clarkson was 18-21 years old. I also know they did not travel their JV team. Their JV team beat DeMatha Catholic in Maryland on Tuesday of last week 21-0. I know this from talking to North fans and that game. I don’t think people realize what Ironton played against and how well they battled against North. The fans at Clarkson said this is by far their best team since the programs inception. IMG of Canada (only been around 6 years or so).teach1coach2 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 12:24 pm I may be wrong. Ironton needs bob lutz back we need someone that takes pride in his legacy not lose to Canadians
Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
IMG of Canada? 21 year olds? QB missed an open WR on the 2 point conversion? No, no, and no. First, the Clarkson team was very big and a good football team. They are not as talented as some teams Ironton will see in the DV playoffs. Some of those big linemen had zero athleticism whatsoever. Several of them couldn’t “run” on and off the field. Second, show some facts that the “men” of Clarkson North were 19-21 years old. Making such excuses sounds obnoxious and whiny. And third, the Ironton QB played a great game with his arm and legs. He realized the window on the RB was closing fast and would be stopped before the end zone. He scrambled to give his WRs more time to try to get open. His effort was great on that play, nobody could get open. I do not question the call to go for 2. I like the chances to get 3 yards with that offense. Keep improving, one loss means nothing.
