Week 7: Waverly (4-2) at Minford (1-5)
Week 7: Waverly (4-2) at Minford (1-5)
Waverly, coming off a 41-0 homecoming win over Oak Hill on Saturday, travels to Minford for this SOC matchup. The Falcons beat the Oaks in a week 4 thriller 22-21, and had a good showing against West on Saturday, only trailing 6-0 at halftime.
The weather forecast for Friday looks good at this point so the Tigers should be able to air it out, can the Falcons defend the pass?

Waverly and Burg both should be able to rest players, and heal a bit, before they meet up following this week.

I've heard the OH starting QB went out in the 1st quarter of that game, no they can't defend the pass Waverly should light up the scoreboard early and rest guys in the 2nd half.smurray wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 6:03 pm Waverly, coming off a 41-0 homecoming win over Oak Hill on Saturday, travels to Minford for this SOC matchup. They’ve had some good pass coverage at times this year. Can they do it well enough for four quarters to be in this one? Hard to say. Another tall task for the Falcons this week. Focus on the improvements that can be made.smurray wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 6:03 pm Waverly, coming off a 41-0 homecoming win over Oak Hill on Saturday, travels to Minford for this SOC matchup. Waverly cannot peak ahead at all. They also should be able to dismiss this Minford team

No real shocker here, now Waverly will host Burg with a shot at some much needed points to help try and lock up a home game.

Yeah, the Tigers are sitting 7th in Region 15. Beating only Northwest in their last three games will not get the job done for hosting a first round game. On the positive side, finishing 6-4 may not have been enough to have made the playoffs in Region 16. Second level points matter.
They say nothing is impossible, yet I accomplish nothing every day.

9.4 would have them sitting in the 9th position right now if they were in region 16, I think at 6-4 it would've got them in but they would've been in that 13-16 range and gone home with a running clock in round 1. Luckily the regions were moved around and they benefited BIG time from the move.Zahns Corner wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 9:29 am

As for this game, Tigers take care of business and move on to face Burg. They going to have to run the ball some against Burg to stay in the game.
As for Minford, keep battling…better days ahead.*
