5-1 Portsmouth vs 6-0 Fairland

Post by WrestlingFootball »

This is the game of the week. Is also the OVC Championship game. I’m going to take Fairland in this one.

HUGE game this week. This is for the OVC, this is for a ton of playoff points. These 2 schools don’t like one another, it’s turned into quite the rivalry in most sports, including football. They split last year with Fairland taking the regular season game and Portsmouth taking the playoff matchup. Pretty similar rosters to last year. The one big difference is QB for both teams. They’ve played 2 common opponents so far. Both beat West & both beat Gallia. Run vs. Pass. This game could go either way. I think Portsmouth needs it more. Game is in Portsmouth, last time Fairland visited Portsmouth they got spanked. Give me the Trojans at home!!!

Should be a dandy of a game but can Portsmouth stop the pass?? Greenup probably the only true team who can throw and they're not great at it but they lit Portsmouth up. Fairland has played well against the run so far this year and has been getting better and better in the trenches over the last few years. If Fairland can get up a couple scores and get Portsmouth out of their comfort zone should make things much easier, let's take Fairland on the road by 14

Pass defense for Portsmouth is a bit suspect, but I thought that last year against Fairland too and they showed up. Greenup threw for 244 on Portsmouth, but 128 of that came on 2 64 yard TD’s. Take those 2 away and they threw for 116 yards. Now granted you can’t take them away. But if Portsmouth can take away the deep ball they might have a chance at slowing the Dragons passing game down.

Well the problem with that is ounce the sucker you in on the pass they have Kitts and number 3 who are solid running backs and then you have power runner Creamens who runs over tacklers he hasn't ran ball much but I think he gets a lot of touches this week and you definitely can't overlook Fairlands speed and there very fast defense and probably the best defense front line seen in a long time I'm taking Fairland by 21

Without a doubt probably the biggest game in SEO this coming weekend. Could very well turn into a shootout, as both teams are very capable of lighting up the scoreboard. Hoping for a Trojan win, but still might have to give a slight edge to the Dragons. With the Playoffs just around the corner for both of these teams, let's hope for an injury free game for both teams.

As with most of these type games, it is all about the match-ups. Go Trojans! Game could go either way

I dont put much stock in a conference that ran away from the best comp in their area. That said, trojans pull the upset.

You mean like Ironton left the SEOAL when they were being curb stomped week in and week out. Every conference, and every team, has its up and downs.

I’m more confident in the Portsmouth defense being able to stop the run game of Fairland. That’s the strength of the defense. Pass defense as I said has had ups and downs this year. Key will be to get some pressure on the QB. Kitts was hurt last year and didn’t play in the playoff game, he definitely will be a big help.

I’ll take Fairland I think they have the difference maker at qb and offensive can’t give Portsmouth defense fits. Portsmouth cannot commit silly penalties and expect to win

Why does it matter where he heard it and what makes you privy to that information? Why can’t you use the word you instead of ya? And what is so funny that you would laugh your *ss off about what he posted?
