Crazy program Maria Stein has. They win out the regular season, they’ll be tied with Ironton at 58 consecutive wins. A record that’s been held since 1983.radiodavel wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 6:57 pm 2024 Week 6 US Consecutive HS Football Winning Streaks, One Close Call

Yeah and quite frankly ML streak is much much more impressive the MAC is so tough and extremely competitive to think they've gone that long without a loss is amazing and they just took Versailles to the wood shed this week and they were state ranked and undefeated in DV.Glousterite wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 9:15 pmCrazy program Maria Stein has. I don’t know a ton about the MAC other than they are freakin tough. You think Coldwater (currently 6-0) will be a test for Stein week 10, or do they run through them as well?greygoose wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 6:22 amYeah and quite frankly ML streak is much much more impressive the MAC is so tough and extremely competitive to think they've gone that long without a loss is amazing and they just took Versailles to the wood shed this week and they were state ranked and undefeated in DV.Glousterite wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 9:15 pmCrazy program Maria Stein has. I thought delphos had the record of 57? Didn’t think ironton won that many state titles?Glousterite wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 9:15 pmCrazy program Maria Stein has. I got bored and went down a rabbit hole on OHSAA. Lol. According to their records, Ironton has the record with 58 consecutive wins from 1977-1983 then Delphos with 57 consecutive wins from 1996-2000.

Only way to beat Marion is to win in the trenches, coldwater lost their only d1 guy to a motor accident and their qb is playing with a torn labrum. He still throws it but not like last year. They have been working on the run game and they have upset the stieners before but the defense is so good most ppl can’t even comprehend itGlousterite wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 6:52 amI don’t know a ton about the MAC other than they are freakin tough. Nah, you’re good! I’m sure people are way more educated than me on the history, I was just going off what I found on OHSAA’s site. Which if it’s on the internet, it has to be true, right? Here is where I got the info. Although, it does say last updated back in 2016.

Very interesting. Of course the site does say “unofficial” so I’d be interested to see some other folks post here just for education purposes.Rolltanks wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:08 amYa the years look off to me on St. John’s too they won their first title in 98 i believe before that they were a 6-4 team every yearRolltanks wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:00 amWow I thought they only won two titles my bad.Glousterite wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 7:59 am I got bored and went down a rabbit hole on OHSAA. And you are right. Looks like Ironton won their state titles in 1979 and 1989, so it looks like OHSAA needs to devote some time to their websiteRolltanks wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:00 amWow I thought they only won two titles my bad.Glousterite wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 7:59 am I got bored and went down a rabbit hole on OHSAA. Ironton did not win 58 consecutive games between 77-83. They lost two during that time.Glousterite wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:18 amAnd you are right. Much appreciated. Like I said, I got that info straight from OHSAA’s website. Seems as if they need to work on their stats.WinnerWinner wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 10:53 amIronton did not win 58 consecutive games between 77-83. Unless something crazy happens ML will break the record and by seasons end have another state championship added to their long list. It’s just crazy the amount of success they’ve had over the last 20 or so years this isn’t a long history of success program. They’ve been dominate like to other over last 20 years or so. Here’s an article from beginning of last season and keep in mind they won the title last year also.Glousterite wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 6:52 amI don’t know a ton about the MAC other than they are freakin tough. Local Flyers have become one of the state's preeminent football programs, winning all of their record 13 state championships since 2000. Approximately 90 percent of the boys in grades 7-9 participate in football from the village of 1,206. The Flyers' varsity roster numbers 68, more than a quarter of the high school's total enrollment of 260.
All of this under coach Tim Goodwin who took over in 1999.

I’m just at a loss for words. That’s remarkable to say the least. 68 kids on a D7 roster is insane. Whatever they are doing works obviously.greygoose wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 4:53 amUnless something crazy happens ML will break the record and by seasons end have another state championship added to their long list. They have only won 2 State Titles. Back then only two teams advanced to the playoffs in 3 division at the start of that streak. Wasn’t like it is todayGlousterite wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:04 amNah, you’re good! I’m sure people are way more educated than me on the history, I was just going off what I found on OHSAA’s site.
