Week 7: (1-5) Oak Hill @ (2-4) Wheelersburg

Post by The Nature Boy »

At week 7 already. Hard to believe. Burg comes home so let's hope they take care of business the rest of the way. You can't discount any team at this point. I look for Waverly and West Portsmouth to give them all they want. I believe both are on the road. Oak Hill always shows up to play. Should be another good Friday night on the river.

Oak hill struggling but Burg will keep it respectful. Burg head coach always respects the opponent and the game of football.

To say that Oak Hill is struggling is an understatement. The Pirates will pretty much dictate how bad this one will be from the start. The running clock should come into play with the second half kickoff.

Look for the final to be similar to Waverly 40 some to nothing. The burg won't run it up and they'll be very respectful with things but Oak Hill while they've made strides this year simply isn't anywhere near ready yet for the big teams

Burg might get an injured player or two back in the next few weeks. That should help their depth

Burg comfortably, but respectfully. JV and freshmen going to see a lot of minutes in second half.*

It doesn’t matter. Burgs just not able to beat good football teams anymore and that’s what the burg standard is. We play this out every year. Lose to ironton Jackson and prep. Win the SOC, get a heath portmouth or west type rd 1-2 then get beat by prep. Every burg season is now Groundhog Day

Nothing last forever , football in our area is nowhere near what it used to be. Look at this forum hardly no one post any more. Few papers carry local sports or scores. You can be dead and buried before it is published anywhere. Same with sports. We live in a vacuum around here.

It is hard to argue with facts. Decent paying jobs are few, with a lot of competition. Even a 32 yr vet couldn't find a job, unless he wanted to work fast food. No thanks!!! The drastic decline in the region, since the 70s, has been crippling. Young families are limited in choices. You either live and raise a family in a cesspool or move on. Anyway, I enjoy watching, via streams, from afar. Enjoy the highs and never let the lows define you.

Life is what you make of it. Plenty of good jobs in the area. Maybe not like it used to be and maybe have to have a duel income but still a good place to live and raise a family

What are the good jobs in the area, and what companies are currently hiring? Life is what you make of it. I agree the rural areas are a good place to raise a young family. I'm not so sure I'd want my kids going to school where drugs are prevalent.
