1-16 then

They won't have to play any of the top 4 teams in the region right out the gate they'll be higher seeded than that. They've got good points coming there way with West and Waverly, now come week 12 that's another story.

I can't speak to Barnsville, but I don't think Fairland belongs in the same conversation with Ironton and prep.

They can prove me wrong, I guess, Friday night

Nope and honestly I don't think Fairland would want anything to do with Burg in round 1 either.

One season in the 2000’s. Burg went 5-5 and made the playoffs. Lost the first game and finished 5-6.

Losing season before then? 1964!
Definitely a few years before my time! Very impressive they have been so consistent over the years.

This is no dig on my end at all, I can’t control what other people will comment though. I was aiming at a discussion of actual playoff chances should they happen to lose another game.

Wheelersburg hasn’t had a losing regular season since 1963. 5-5 or better every year since then. If they win out, they’ll be 6-4 and probably be a 12 seed or higher.

Their current 4 losses are against teams a combined 22-5.

I said this in an earlier thread. Burg will win out. There is really not much of a difference in Valley, West, and Waverly. I predict they will have a running clock on the remainder of the teams. They play an extremely tough non conference schedule. But when it comes to SOC play, they still are quite a bit ahead of everyone else. Topics like this I think are just to stir things up a bit when in reality, everybody else in the SOC wishes they could have season after season like Burg.

I agree. Really, maybe Ironton this year, could play and win all games Burg lost this year. No one else in the area would have a snowballs chance in hell.
