They will be solid, no doubt. Smith kid is very solid. One of the better teams in SEO D6 (I'd put North Adams above them)

... but a top team in all of SEO might be a stretch. I'd put them probably somewhere in the 25-30 range in SEO.

Chillicothe
Sheridan
Miami Trace
Marietta
Warren Local
Jackson
Hillsboro
Circleville
Logan Elm
Fairfield Union
Waverly
Unioto
Westfall
Washington Court House
New Lexington
Meigs
Wheelersburg
Portsmouth
Ironton
Zane Trace
Fairland
Minford
Chesapeake
Eastern Brown
North Adams
Western Pike?
South Webster
Southern?
Portsmouth Notre Dame?

This is absolutely NOT to knock Symmes at all, they will be near the top in the middle division of SOC and one of the favorites to win district in D6 SEO.

D3-D4-D5 divisions are simply a whole different animal.

Team to beat in the area? No, but they are the team to beat in the SOC 2. They played with Webster at the end of the season last year in the tournament. Have a great player in Smith, but you will find out how good they really are by their league record and their game against fairland later in the year.

They will be competitive in the SOC 2 due to Northwest and Eastern losing quite a bit, Western returns everyone but is hard for me to put as a favorite to win the league only winning a handful of games last year. I thought symmes did very well in the tournament last year and surprised some people but they are a long way for me to say that they are a team to watch in the area. Webster will likely be the only team that should be clear favorites to make a run at something special in d7. I think you'll find most leagues in Southern Ohio are down compared to past years.

Western will have to do a lot to even have a chance at the league. With only 2 players that can really go it will be easy to key on their offense. Coach Williams will always have them playing hard, but assuming their schedule is similar to last year that can only keep them close in games for so long.

Symmes should win the league, and be something to worry about in D6 but I doubt they have the horses to make a real deep run.

Don't count out Western to win the league. They will be a lot better than what a lot of people are expecting.

The reason i see symmes as a top team is because I watched them some this summer and they beat some good teams and they didn't really lose anyone from last year i think they win the soc 2 and be like the 1-2 seed in D6

They lost 2 starters, Young kids coming up are pretty solid though.
