Miami Trace @ Jackson… FAC Game of the Week?

Post by mt1fan »

Miami Trace 6-1
Wins over Wilmington, Logan Elm, Western Brown, McClain, Hillsboro, Bethel Tate

Jackson
Wins over Logan, Wheelersburg, Western Brown, McClain, Washington

A game that will more than likely decide the FAC…

Thoughts?

Trace can stop the run but have been suspect vs the pass. Could be close game but I’m leaning towards Jackson big

Not for sure what to think of this one, MT seems to fall short on Jackson each year but let's be honest Jackson hasn't beaten anyone of major significance. 3 of the 5 wins are against teams with 1 win. Just seems like Jackson has had MT number though no matter the circumstances Is MT ready to take that next step in terms of FAC play? Let's take MT with the upset at Jackson but really think this one can go either way

Both teams are pretty even but Jackson owns the FAC.

Jackson 28
MT 14

I think this could be the year that the Panthers get it done. I watched the live stream of the Jackson/WCH game last night and if Jackson comes out against MT like they did against WCH, they’ll be down at least 2 scores at the half. They’ve gotta clean up the penalties and dropped passes. You can get away with it against a bad team but against a solid opponent it will cost you.

I haven’t watched Miami Trace but if they’re as good as everyone says they will beat Jackson by 21. Jackson is way down.

Jackson needs this or they could very well miss the playoffs…winning this would be huge points and a chance at a home game

I don’t think Jackson will be able to run on Miami Trace. Trace takes the FAC by beating Jackson at home, just like Hillsboro and Chillicothe have done over the FAC years. MT 35-21

The only 2 good FAC teams. I think Miami Trace secretly wants this game more than we can imagine. They seem motivated that this is their year to win the FAC. I think Jackson loses a heartbreaker. Miami Trace 27-21 on a late late TD

I agree with you on both, way too many penalties and dropped passes. WCH didn't put up too much of a fight. Even though the Ironmen won by a 42-0 score, they still only had thirty some offensive plays compared to WCH having 50 something offensive plays. The Ironmen were scoring on the first plays of about every possession that they had. I'm not sure how many fumbles or interceptions that WCH had, but it was quite a few. If the Ironmen play that way against MT, it could be a long evening for the Ironmen. Even with all that, I'll still take the Ironmen over the Panthers.

Geez…after 30 years of very solid football I guess this Jackson team just doesn’t get any credit.

Great QB, RB, WR, line….defense solid. Long time coaching staff. I have to give them way more credit than is being given.

Jackson 35-21

Jackson will win this by a few scores. Let's go with 42 to 14 possible 21 if Trace scores late.

I think in this matchup you don't get credit for the past 30 years of play. If all of those things are great one can't help but to think Jackson has underachieved this year then. 3 of the 5 wins against 1 win teams, had to pull it out at the end against Burg, no idea what happened against Ironton when I checked that score it was 14-12 Jackson then Ironton scores the next 39 straight points, lost to a 3-4 Ross team they beat by 30 last year with the Ross QB rushing all over them. It's ok to have a down year from time to time especially with how much success Jackson has had over the years. 5 wins and sitting at #15 in the region says it all, this is a huge game for Jackson dare I say must win in terms of playoff hopes.

Agree Miami Trace is the favorite Friday, if Jackson can pull this out and finish 8-2 and league champs . Would be a good “down” year. Hope Trace is ready , Alumni Stadium will be popping Friday .

Jackson with one bad loss this season and hung with Ironton for 2 quarters. I’ll take that resume over Miami Trace. Jackson wins by 3 scores. Miami Trace is a solid team and sit at 6-1 but Jackson would be 7-0 with their schedule.

Trace beat Wilmington in week 2 and they beat Ross by two scores in week 4. Not saying Wilmington would beat Jackson but Trace’s schedule isn’t as easy as you think.

Nope sorry to say I don't go to all of their games, I try to hit up ones in the surrounding area I feel are going to be solid games. I know all of those seniors on that team good group of kids and Bodhi has come a long ways at QB this year. But when you reference saying you have great QB, RB, Line and WR play you sort of box yourself in to saying this team is underachieving then as those were your words on the team. With that being said in the pickems I went with Jackson because it's more of one of those I gotta see MT get over that hump they've been close with teams but just haven't been able to put it together against jackson.
