Simply put coaching, there's been times Waverly has had better teams but needed the coaches to step up and put them over the top. Waverly goes into Burg thinking they need to change their identity and it never works, also is there an over under on how many onside kicks Burg will successfully get against Waverly?? Got 1 last year almost a 2nd one before Waverly fixed the giant hole in the middle of the front line. The years Waverly has beaten burg those were years the players for Waverly was just simply better across the board and got the job done.

Wheelersburg is 50-27 all time vs. Waverly.
Waverly only has 5 wins against Wheelersburg since 1974.
I think that they’ve played every year since 1974 besides the 1978 Season.

Interesting info. Thanks for the research!

There are only 2 Waverly teams I think should’ve beaten Wheelersburg that haven’t. The 2016 team should’ve and lost 24-13 and the 2021 team that lost 21-14. Outside of those 2 teams none of the others as of recently have been good enough in my opinion to have won

2019 should've been able to as well, I'm simply talking about the years they did win it was because the players they had. At some point coaching has to help push you to the top

Oh absolutely it should. Waverly was rich with talented kids in each of those years they won. The others I listed as well as 2019 were some of the better teams to come through Waverly since the turn of the century.

2016 or 2020 imo
2016 was the better defense but the 2020 offense is probably better

The safety on the 2016 team would have knocked every receiver on the 2020 team out of the game. His number was 1 idk his name but none of your running backs where getting away from him

Does anyone know where this game will be streamed? Does Waverly still charge to stream their games?

Burg rolls in this one 38-13. The brutal nonconference schedule Burg faced has made the SOC schedule a cakewalk for them.*

Going back to the Bolin years, Waverly has needed to be 15-20% more talented that Burg to win. When we are even matched Burg when by 1-2 scores.
