Understandable you look at a record without knowing anything about the team and came up with your opinion. Not realizing against Southern they were down 14-0 early in the game to fight back to win holding Southern to 7 the rest of the way, Symmes Valley I'm sure you see 53-29 and think yeah another blowout with zero idea they were down 14-0 early on and down 21-20 at half. Everyone knows about the week 1 dog fight so you're talking about a team that has been battle tested all the while missing 2-3 lineman along the way, a WR missing a game. It's all good though you can look at who they play on paper but unless you've actually put eyes on the team probably shouldn't be saying you're not sold on them yet.

Ouch.. Don't get all butt hurt because I made an opinion. I just stated based off of the teams they are playing who have averaged about 2 wins, I am not sure how good they are. You see it all the time, teams who are 9-1 get beat 1st round because of their schedule weak. I never said Eastern was not a good team. I just stated the teams they have beat besides Miller, have 2 wins. Like I said only time will tell.

Not butt hurt at all like you said you see it all the time that’s why I figured I’d give you some insight looking at a schedule and teams wins and losses is a thing we all do. I mean just looking at it there’s other teams like Paint valley and Jackson who haven’t beaten anyone.

Comparing teams that Jackson has beat who have 3 wins or so is completely different. I just am ready to see Eastern play better competition to show how good they are.

You missed the point Jackson has 3 wins against teams that have 1 win so when you look at that on paper it’s the same principle behind it. Those 3 teams are terrible this year, WCH only win is against a winless Chillicothe team. Question is are you going to actually see or just look at the scores, lol. We all do it especially playoff time with teams, honestly it’s perfectly natural we all can’t see every team each week. Then you look at paint valley a team that everyone has hyped up hasn’t beaten a team with a winning record and lost to the only team they played that was .500 or above.

This team has shown some growing pains early on so far this season which the coach said they would after all the talent they had lost from last year. Plus missing your best linemen hasn’t helped matters either but after what I seen in the 2nd half against Symmes Valley I see a team that is more than capable of being better than last years team. I think come playoffs this team will be peaking at the right time and they’re also getting from what I’ve heard one of the most athletic kids on the team back starting week 10! I look for them to go deeper than last year. Everyone especially TVC fans didn’t give us a chance against Waterford last year in the 2nd round because of of our schedule and because we only beat Southern by 1. Ask anyone at that game including Waterford fans I’m sure they will tell you Eastern was a little better than what most thought.

The ‘quality of schedule’ sometimes isn’t the best barometer (especially when you count opponent’s W/L’s, because obviously when you go undefeated through ‘x’ games that drives up the L’s in the process.)

That said, Eastern simply does not play the long game. Their offense has some good, talented pieces. They will try to win via the strong link. Where that is an issue: you can’t expect to beat someone good by strictly doing 3x1 downfield passing.

All of that trips & bunch, the route trees and the surgical concepts downfield… yeah that’s cool and fun and all. When it comes to actually running the scheme as intended, though, they run away from it. If they prioritized the basics, the nitty-gritty, the lunch pail plays… their system would have more depth and dimension. There will be a game down the road where they won’t be able to win by purely hammering it against the side of the secondary that looks the weakest.

SG is idle this week (Green game is called off), so we’ll see if the Rebels can string a push in Mercervegas despite their rust potential.

Imagine when your version of "tougher" is SG who's wins are over river valley, fisher Catholic, Oak hill, notre dame and east.

Need to clean some things and cut down on the penalties and turn overs but it’s a win so I’ll take it!

Tucker Leist looked very impressive again last night and also had a nice touchdown called back. Hes gotta be one of the top receivers in our area. Does anybody know if he any colleges is looking at him and can somebody shares his stats?
