Fairland vs Coal Grove
Fairland vs Coal Grove
Can Fairland wins without there QB and there kicker who has been deadly ok we the Grove
Re: Fairland vs Coal Grove
I think Hayden did a nice job filling in. Ironton knew he was getting the ball basically every snap he took a beating. Tough kid who didn’t back down from the challenges of facing an elite defense. He ran hard and threw the ball well.
I think getting Hayden to the edge to the field side would be a nice move to allow him to use his speed and have room to work. He was running to the boundary a lot Friday night and that minimized his speed imo. I think he showed he can handle the football and make throws. He threw a couple nice balls Friday. Think they could allow him to make some throws out of RPO sets to keep the defenses honest think putting the ball in his hands and trusting him with the reads would give Coal Grove fits. Have to be able to make the defense honor him as a passer a little bit while he is playing QB.

CG will be predictable BUT it’s been effective. I’d favor Fairland by 2 tuddies at full strength-WITHOUT Wall it’s a toss up.

The halftime adjustment of running power football at Fairland is what they’ll see from the start but definitely without the explosiveness of Tigers.

Interested in this one.
I know CG is run heavy, but do they do the power game like Portsmouth did? Because I could see that being a bit of an issue for Fairland, but if they go side to side, Fairland should be okay there.

Fairland can pass, CG has never been able to defend the pass, so I’m going with the Dragons in this one

Hairline fracture in his leg, didn’t play against Ironton either. Could possibly be back by week 10 or playoffs.
Re: Fairland vs Coal Grove
Did a Fairland player get ejected for swinging/hitting an Ironton player?
Re: Fairland vs Coal Grove
Fairland can’t defend the run. Coal Grove can’t defend the pass. Coal Grove likes to run it. Fairland likes to air it out. However, Fairland is just too much. Fairland by 21

Re: Fairland vs Coal Grove
My understanding is no....how he didn't get tossed is beyond me. He took his helmet off then swung and hit two different Ironton players...should've been automatic ejection!!!!!! No if ands about it!!
Re: Fairland vs Coal Grove
I think Fairland’s quick tempo will give the Grove fits. Fairland by a couple TD

Re: Fairland vs Coal Grove
I would like to see CG win to give Portsmouth a chance at sharing the OVC title but having seen both teams I think the talent gap is definitely in Fairlands favor.
Re: Fairland vs Coal Grove
I think the other big thing is how does Fairland come out of the Ironton game health wise. Several kids were cramping up and Cremeans was injured the play before the Hayden situation. If Cremeans is unable to go this really changes this game for Fairland Cremeans and Callicoat are great linebackers. 2 weeks in a row the Fairland defense hasn’t been great at stopping the run and we all know Coal Grove will challenge them and run the football. Friday night will be a mirror check for both teams a lot of playoff impact for points and seeding.
Re: Fairland vs Coal Grove
If the Dragons starting QB was playing, there would be no doubt as to the prediction of which team was probably going to win this game. I'll still go with Fairland with the win.
