Burg crowd didn’t come close to filling up the visiting side at Waverly
One, most Burg fans thought this game would be a blow out. No one from Burg was excited to see that.

Two, the game could be watched for free from home! So why make the trip for a game that could turn into a running clock?
after the way the season started there is no excitement about this team period. if the team was undefeated or at least would have been competitive in their blowout losses the Ed would be packed
Sorry but the Ed is not going to be packed to watch blow out games. No family of four wants to drop $50+ (tickets, food, etc) to watch a game that’s over in the first quarter unless your kid is playing.

With all the livestreams out there fans do not have to attend games in person, that is why the attendance is down. It’s like that everywhere

Exactly. These online sites are hitting records for viewers.

This is not rocket science! Not sure why some are struggling to understand it.

Yes, the televised games are great. I've also found other schools media sites and watched the away games. Makes it nice when you live 2 hours the other way. But, my kids graduated from there and I still support them. I enjoyed my time with the athletic boosters and getting the field ready for games.

It isn’t possible for Northwest to get in beating a 1-8 oak hill team

According to Joe Eitel website, there are 9 teams fighting for 4 spots. Three of the 9, if they win, they are in. All three of those games look to be competitive. Very interesting Friday night in region 19 to finish up the season.

if it shakes out that way, and it very well may, the best four teams are in the top half of the bracket

Jason Vorhees wrote: Thu Oct 17, 2024 7:27 am Barnesville is kind of in the “unknown” part of the region. They’re 8-0 and blasted a very solid team in Fort Frye 51-16 and beat Monroe Central 44-14. If I’m not mistaken, they returned the majority of their team from last year and beat Columbus Academy last year in the playoffs.

I wouldn’t sleep on them. I’m not saying that they’ll win the region but it wouldn’t surprise me to see them in the second or third round of the playoffs. They could, if all of the chips fall right, be playing in the Regional Finals.
I watched them last week and while they easily handled my Monroe Central I wasn’t impressed. They have a good line. They aren’t tall or fat.. but they are brutes. They can easily mow down all the small schools on their schedule up here. But if you average 13 yds/carry of course your play action pass will result in wideouts being open by 15 yds. But they are so one dimensional. Stop the run and the QB won’t beat you. He has the arm strength of a 13 y/o. Just stating what I saw. They can easily be beat by the top

I attended every home game this year and Burg always has a good crowd it's the visiting side that has fallen off on a few of the soc teams that's not burgs fault but Burg always has one of the biggest followings at away games

I’d love to see Portsmouth and Amanda clearcreek. Didn’t Portsmouth play them a lot in the 90s. I remember clearcreek being really good but can’t remember if I saw them playing Portsmouth or not.

Not 100% sure but I believe the last time Portsmouth played Amanda CC was in 2000. Week 1 the Trojans won 13-6. Portsmouth went on to lose a heartbreaker to Van Wert and Amanda won the D5 state title that season.

The Drew Pasteur site with Region 19 projections has Zane Trace #15 or #16 spot. Win or lose this week.

https://www.fantastic50.net/r19seed.html

Northwest has almost no chance to get in.

Harvest Prep a 5 seed in any D5 region is a joke. I think the algorithm could use a little tweaking when it comes to strength of schedule calculations

If half of the teams they beat in the past 9 weeks win Friday night it is possible.

There isn’t really an algorithm. It’s a 100% merit based system with no human input. You get first level points for beating a team, 2nd level points for the teams they beat. The numbers are based solely on division. 3.5 for beating a d7 up to 6.5 for beating a d1 team. Losses don’t count at all.

I agree. How is fairland a 2 seed when they have not played near the schedule of prep. Didn’t prep beat pick central and they are d1.
