My impression of this Tiger team is that, in my opinion, it is one of the most well-prepared Fighting Tiger teams I’ve ever seen take the field and that started on week one. They have a lot of position coaches on and I believe that they are talented and have really taught the boys well. They’re much more disciplined as well from the last few years.

I think one of the toughest games they had this year was against Pikeville. They really had to get to work to win that one. Those rednecks down there really wanted it. I think the fans were worse and more than a few of us were threatened by them at the game lol. One man who often leads the ‘TIGER’ cry was stopped by a police officer who accused him of trying to start a riot. I was proud to be an Ironton fan because I know that our fans would be far more classy and would never act like that to them. If we never go down there again, it will be too soon.

I firmly believe that when we step into Portsmouth Trojan Stadium Friday night, the Tigers have a tough row to plow as a Trojans will want this game so bad. There is a lot of stake for them. I know they’d love to have a playoff game or two to start the playoff season. A win against the Tigers would absolutely insure that happens.
That’s the thing for me, I know this game is a huge rivalry, I know there was some beef and stupidity from both sides over the summer, Ironton has beat up on Portsmouth recently, both have very strong, proud fan bases. With that said I sure hope Friday is about the game and doesn’t escalate outside of that. I know some Portsmouth fans that like to jaw and I’m sure Ironton will jaw back. I don’t want anyone to feel threatened or hate coming to Portsmouth. I know that is the feeling for many people across a few different sports. I hate that because I’m passionate sure, but I know where to draw the line. Some fans do not and I feel like it gives Portsmouth fans a bad reputation.
There are fans in every fan base that take things to far. For the most part every high school I've been able to go to the last few years just about everyone I've meet are helpful nice people and it doesn't matter what color you are wearing they are there to support the kids. Some fans embarrass their own fan base with their actions. If you are one to yell at officials, coaches, other fans, or heaven forbid a player there is no place for you at a high school event. I get that emotions take over sometimes and you Dont want your team or kids to be done wrong. But you know the people I'm talking about that game after game cause problems. Or tries to.

I've been around since the JJhuddle days and their are still some folks around but a lot are more or less lurking and not posting as often. Nothing like the old days when Prince Trojan would fill 4 pages of the Portsmouth vs Ironton thread on his own.

Ironton is just too much of a juggernaut for a team like Portsmouth to handle. There is no one in this area who can compete with them. Ironton wins 63-13

Good night, I’ve never seen any type of bad behavior from Portsmouth fans like that. If I gave that impression, it wasn’t intentional.

Hoping that our Trojans come out and play hard, with no turnovers and an absolute minimum of penalties. Don't beat yourselves, Trojans......make Ironton beat you. Unsportsmanlike penalties, late hits out of bounds, holding on returns, and multiple false starts have to be eliminated. Clean football is what it will take to be competitive. If those things mentioned above happen, the game will get out of hand. Conversely, if PHS can play clean football, then what could happen could be reminiscent of several years ago, when Talyn Parker led a heavy underdog Trojan squad to an 35-28 upset of the Fighting Tigers after Ironton blew a 28-7 lead.

I know what I posted above sounds almost crazy, but this is a rivalry that has lasted over 100 years. Weird things happen in rivalry games. Ironton is the prohibitive favorite for sure, but Portsmouth is a 7-2 playoff team that has shown they're capable of playing some good football.

However the game turns out, both these teams have clinched a Week 11 game so staying injury free is of utmost importance.

No you didn’t, I was just going off of what you said about Pikeville. I hate for Portsmouth to do something the same. As someone else stated every school has a set of fans that push the limits. Just by reading post on here I know Portsmouth fans aren’t the favorites of some of the opposing schools. Then you have a specific poster on here who I’m not sure if they are trolling or just have a negative attitude, hate to have people think all Portsmouth posters/fans are like this individual.

Losing a lot of key skill players, the JV has looked good though so we should be able to plug some of the holes. I’m not sure what we have coming back on the lines but the coaching staff has done a decent job of finding players there the last few years. We might struggle early but we look to have a lot of talent coming down the pipeline.

You’re just soft, bet you’re part of the old generation of Portsmouth fans who are fine with mediocre performances and let other schools fans trash us.
We root for the same school man, you need to relax a bit. You seem to rub people the wrong way on here, we have never had an issue but you’ve been on one recently. I wouldn’t say I’m soft, I’m just trying to be a good sport & I can enjoy other teams just as much as my own. I’m a football fan.
How are you guys looking for next season I here we have to go down there week one

Lose I think around 15 seniors this season. Next year might be rough.
