Sad, I think alot of West posters have moved on from here. This one use to get wild. Not quite Ironton levels but always entertaining

My wife and her little sister graduated from West in the 00’s and her step dad played there in the early 80’s so I will be rooting for you guys, otherwise the holidays will get awkward.

Burg fans have as well. 2 running clocks to start the season, 0-3 start, players laying all over the field in the loss to Jackson , another loss to prep, 1-15. Maybe next yr

Yep, you sound like someone who played at Burg. LOL!!

My apologies that your life is so boring that you have to troll Burg posts pretending to be a fan :(

SiderBlood wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2024 11:06 am Death, taxes, West vs Burg for an SOC. I’d like to find the numbers of how many times week 10 has decided the SOC. I’d have to think a lot.

Both teams started off with a rough record , but as good teams do they both have improved. Burg has a much better non conference. West has been down and out several times this year and have scrapped and clawed to gut out wins.

I honestly think athlete for athlete we can match up. Where burg separates is the depth they have. In order for the Siders to have a chance we have got to keep this thing within a score. This isn’t gonna be a 500 yard rushing night. Keep it close , don’t turn it over, no goofy penalties , and hope bishop, Parker, and Adkins can break off a couple big ones.

Gonna take a perfect game but that’s why they play the game. Big time rivalry game, lots of emotions, you never know.
Sadly I think it’s going to be similar to last season. If you could have seen the players and coaches faces in the locker room last year you would understand we were beat from the very beginning. Nothing has changed but us few players here and there. The difference between the coaches are astounding and will be the difference every year. Burg knows us better than we know ourselves. I mean we have good players, but our coaches don’t have the competitive edge needed against them. I feel for my guys if it doesn’t go their way again, Still some good dudes playing, but the Saturday film last year was an embarrassment for years to come and a ton of respect lost forever!

This should be a running clock. As I stated in other SOC team vs Burg threads, Burg will win by a running clock to all SOC teams. No SOC team can hang with Burg. That's just the truth that some don't want to admit.

Yet I have said nothing that’s not true. Trolling burg since 2004 and before :D just a lifelong burg fan hoping someday the football program will be relevant again. Hoping someday we will beat the irontons, Jackson’s, and we don’t have to try to convince ourselves a 6-4 season with a soc championship is a great season.

west shouldn’t even show up I guess lol. all you people might get shocked. if the predictability gets fixed and they play a good game they can win. burg was a better team last year and west hung with them for a half, so you just never know.

I look for if the big play is limited then it will be close. If the barn door gets opened then the cows are gonna run wild. Better tackle and pursue or you will get left in the dust. Both teams have some kids that can take it to the house.

I’m not predicting a Burg blowout. Two years ago, I thought Burg was the better team, yet they rolled into West and came out with a loss.

Burg better be prepared!

Burg made it to the regional championship game last year better than any team in this area you act like Burg hasn't been relevant for years yeah maybe we got beat by HP again but so what because it's hard to beat a team that recruits and true that Burg hasn't won a regional or state championship for a while but so what no one around here has won a state championship since Burg in 2017

Well we aren’t the best team in the area because ironton and Jackson beat us every yr. I’m not saying anything the coaches don’t know. They know changes need to be made in order to compete and beat good football teams. We don’t beat good football teams anymore. The best we can do now is hope to keep those games competitive. We haven’t beat a good football team all yr.

Have to go with the Pirates. They should be able to do a much better job stopping the West running game then Waverly. The Tigers actually never stopped it. West is just too much one dimensional. But, that's why they play the game and it all comes down to this final game.

And yet Burg is the last team in the area to have won a title!

But as you’ve pointed out, you’ve been trolling Burg since 2004. Burg could win the state for the next 10 years, and you would still be trolling.
