One of Ohio's oldest rivalries. Maybe 4th or 5th oldest. Bellaire leads all-time 59-54-7 and have won last 3 meetings convincingly.
According to Eitel's site Purple Riders could finish anywhere from 4th to 11th in R17 and possibly on road in playoffs at 9-1.
Big Reds could sneak in at 5-5 . Throw the records out in this one. Last time I went to this one Jerry Springer was there.
WK 10: Bellaire (4-5) @ Martins Ferry (8-1)

I'm going with Martins Ferry over Bellaire in this one.

Ferry has played one of the weakest schedules in all of Ohio but should win this one by a couple scores.

Weren't the Purple Riders one of the schools Drew Pasteur pointed out could be on the road in playoffs at 9-1?

Purple Riders take this one by a couple of scores. Out of all of the HS nicknames, I have always liked "Purple Riders". Always liked the "Zeps", "Ceramics", and "Potters" as well. Don't think any of those names are owned by more than one school in Ohio.

yes, they played some bad D6 & 7 teams this year. Other Belmont County teams that may be on the road - Monroe Central at 9-1 in R23, and Union Local at 8-2 in R19.carbon_dated wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 4:23 pm Weren't the Purple Riders one of the schools Drew Pasteur pointed out could be on the road in playoffs at 9-1?
