Zane Trace (5-4) at Paint Valley (7-2)
Zane Trace (5-4) at Paint Valley (7-2)
Big game for both teams for playoff seeding. Can PV get back on track after last week?
Re: Zane Trace (5-4) at Paint Valley (7-2)
I think ZT would win if Robertson was playing but I doubt he is so I’ll take ZT by 2-3 scores
Re: Zane Trace (5-4) at Paint Valley (7-2)
Some PV people in the office seem to think he will be playing now so who knows.
Re: Zane Trace (5-4) at Paint Valley (7-2)
Well it’ll probably be a 1 score game if he does. I just think ZT is way better up front
Re: Zane Trace (5-4) at Paint Valley (7-2)
It's very possible he plays now, with the 2nd opinion report. It's a matter of how much pain he can play with. With 2 league losses and no chance of winning the league, do they hold him out another week to heal up even more before playoffs?

I thought the same thing of how much does he play if he plays. You’re in the playoffs and unless it’s a drastic change in playoff seeding I’d hold him out for this week and get ready for week 11

Well after 9 weeks of play I know some won't like it but the facts are PV is soft, Piketon punched them in the mouth and they buckled under the repeated body blows. Then Unioto just came in last week and threw haymakers and yet again they folded, ZT has proven it can play just as physical as both Piketon and Unioto. With Robertson I do think the game could be closer but I think ZT will just pound on him for the game, without Robertson look for ZT by 21. If I'm PV though I'm probably going to sit Robertson and hope to get him healthier for the playoffs if that's possible. PV has already clinched a home playoff game and they don't have a shot at SVC tough call for the coach because really only thing on the line here is seeding

It’s Senior Night but I’d say they have to be smart and give him another week to rest up and heal some more.greygoose wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 7:39 pm Well after 9 weeks of play I know some won't like it but the facts are PV is soft, Piketon punched them in the mouth and they buckled under the repeated body blows. Even though PV has the home field advantage, I'm going with ZT with the win.

I was at the Huntington/Adena game last night and saw the Huntington Administration escort a few PV players out during the game. Not quite sure what that was all about.

Typical of PV QB. I think that's 12 or 13 on the season according to WKKJ.
Re: Zane Trace (5-4) at Paint Valley (7-2)
Zane Trace 16
Paint Valley 12
Final
I was impressed with the Paint Valley line in this game and their backs ran the ball hard most of the night. Minus Robertson, who was cleared, but did not play. I would not have played him either saving him for the playoffs. Zane Trace had numerous chances to blow this game wide open. Dropped passes (two would have been TDs) and not getting the job done in the red zone all evening. Two big plays got ZT the win. Also, PV not defending a fake punt when everybody in western Ross county knew it was about to happen. That was a key play in the game IMO late in the third quarter.
If Paint Valley plays as hard as they did tonight and the Bearcats get Robertson back, they could win a playoff game or two in D6. Zane Trace looks to have a tough one at Fairland next week.

Congrats to the Pioneers on their hard earned win over the Bearcats.

Nice hard fought game to close out the regular season for these 2 teams. Looks like ZT is locked in at the 15 seed and will head to Fairland and PV is locked in at the 6 seed but still some shuffling around can be had to determine their opponent. Looks like Purcell Marian or Madison-Plains good luck to both teams heading into week 11.

Probably the best matchup ZT could’ve hoped for. Get the Portsmouth film and pound the ball.greygoose wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 12:22 am Nice hard fought game to close out the regular season for these 2 teams. For PV, I think they’d much prefer Madison-Plains, but ZT all buy had Purcell Marian beat last season and they’ve had a wild year with their coaching situation, so I think if Robertson is back next week, that they’ll have an excellent chance to win.

Fairland has athletes all over the place, but like you said, they don’t look real physical with you watch them. The QB has been out for two weeks, but played last night. He was not real mobile though with that leg injury. #3 and #13 are both excellent football players. ZT should hope for rain next Friday and take it to them in that mudhole field in Proctorville.danicalifornia wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 2:28 amProbably the best matchup ZT could’ve hoped for. Yes, best possible draw for Zane Trace with the top 4-5 teams in the region. Don’t know if they can beat them, but ZT should be able to play with Fairland which gives the Pioneers a chance to win.
