ACT/Tournament game conflict
Apparently the OHSAA has scheduled tournament games at the same time as the ACT is being given. Anyone know anything about that? That doesn't seem like a very scholastic thing to do!
If you want the right to complain you must be doing one of two things:
1. Doing your best to make yourself better
2. Doing something to make the world better
If you are not doing one of these things then shut your mouth!

ACT Is on a Friday Night? Saturday Night? Doesn't sound right but if so, it is not the OHSAA 's fault. Football games have been played on Friday and Saturday night for years!jeepmadness wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 6:31 am Apparently the OHSAA has scheduled tournament games at the same time as the ACT is being given. Never heard of an ACT test anytime but early in the morning. I some sports could be effected if there was travel involved to the tourney game.jeepmadness wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 6:31 am Apparently the OHSAA has scheduled tournament games at the same time as the ACT is being given. The next ACT test is tomorrow (Oct 26th) and December 14th according to their schedule. Shouldn't affect football in anyway unless your school scheduled the last regular season game tomorrow. And even If they did testing would be done by 1:00 p.m.

Since this has been posted all over and by a South Webster poster, I’m guessing it was supposed to go towards sports that they have in soccer and volleyball
They really want to complain about this, because it’s in all of the forums.

Re: ACT/Tournament game conflict
Used to organize non-sports events where I was told to keep in mind ACT dates. What always ended up happening was someone has to put their event on an ACT date. Saturdays in the school year, especially in the fall, are finite.
My arena on the ACT conflicts wasn’t sports-related. What schools had to understand, and many came around to it, is you need to tell your kids while they are sophomores & juniors to plan ahead. If you know you’re going to busy in the fall, then don’t sign up for a Saturday in the fall. These get offered in the spring and the summer, as well as the winter, too.
