Burg vs West
Re: Burg vs West
Thanks
Re: Burg vs West
Nope, see that’s where you are wrong. Wouldn’t even take a state title. Just get back to beating Jackson, ironton and other good football teams. It takes a special team to win a state title. Everything has to fall your way. The 17 season was truly magical. All the games at chilli, the comeback vs academy, going old school football the 2nd half, double te’s full house backfield, running it down their throat( coach miller type football) (refuse to lose type football). We don’t see that anymore, we rollover now and just take the beating. The madison game was just a great game, another refuse to lose type game. The turnout and state title game, the weather, everything was great. Stopped in Waverly to follow the caravan down through Portsmouth, new boston in the wee hrs, followed Jonathan’s live feed all the way to the stadium, a packed ED at IDK 2-3 am . Those seasons are speacial because they don’t come around very often. Burg fans just want teams like that, that fight and scrape and refuse to lose, and teams that actually go into the ironton Jackson prep games with the attitude we are going to do whatever it takes to win this game, not just waiting for something to not go our way and just quit and say here we go again.RBH23 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 6:48 pmAnd yet Burg is the last team in the area to have won a title!fbnut wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 12:32 pmWell we aren’t the best team in the area because ironton and Jackson beat us every yr. Burg made it to the regional championship game last year better than any team in this area you act like Burg hasn't been relevant for years yeah maybe we got beat by HP again but so what because it's hard to beat a team that recruits and true that Burg hasn't won a regional or state championship for a while but so what no one around here has won a state championship since Burg in 2017
But as you’ve pointed out, you’ve been trolling Burg since 2004. Burg could win the state for the next 10 years, and you would still be trolling.

:lol:no just tough, physical teams willing to do what it takes to win and teams that don’t quit. Is that asking to much these days? fbnut: there been some talk on here that you're an ironton troll posing as a burg fan (and I was starting to wonder myself), but this post ought to put those allegations to bed. With that said, what's your thoughts on how to address the issues? Problems aint worth griping about unless there's talk of solutions with it.*fbnut wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 8:59 amNope, see that’s where you are wrong. Wouldn’t even take a state title. Accusing kids of quitting is pretty crappy in my opinion…let’s hear it pal…who specifically do you think is giving up during the games? Takes little balls to anonymously call out kids on message boards…let’s see if you’ve got the nuts to name em…if not go support some other kidsfbnut wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 9:36 am:lol:no just tough, physical teams willing to do what it takes to win and teams that don’t quit. I agree and I’m not going to lie, I really don’t know. I’ve been told some kids just don’t enjoy playing. I’m not sure how you fix that. I’m not sure what they do in the offseason but it’s not working. So I would at least look at that. I don’t think the offense fits the skill set most yrs. They can’t move the ball vs good teams running the spread. Special teams hasn’t been that special. Cost them the Jackson game. I like the D. I think most times the D is good enough to win. I really like Woodward. He is just a great person. Absolutely the right person to fix it. As a parent I wouldn’t want anyone other than him coaching my child. The schedule is a little too brutal so I would look at that. I’m not saying schedule a bunch of cupcakes but you just can’t start 0-3 and look as bad as they have looked early in the season.art_vandelay wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 10:42 amfbnut: there been some talk on here that you're an ironton troll posing as a burg fan (and I was starting to wonder myself), but this post ought to put those allegations to bed. No I will continue to support the burg but thanks for the advice. So you would like me to name names? That would be better? That’s the reason I didn’t name names. If that ain’t you then I’m not calling you out, if it’s you than you know it’s you, if it’s not then call out the guy lining up beside you that is. This isn’t rocket science. Play for the guy next to you, for your coaches, the school, the community.522Pirate wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 10:54 amAccusing kids of quitting is pretty crappy in my opinion…let’s hear it pal…who specifically do you think is giving up during the games? Re: Burg vs West
Seen every game since probably 2012 or so and I’ve yet to see the kids quit. How bout you show up at practice and address the kids you think are quitting on the team? That kind of a conversation is much better face to face than anonymously behind the keyboard. Unless you’re just too chicken…fbnut wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 1:01 pmNo I will continue to support the burg but thanks for the advice. So you would like me to name names? That would be better? Re: Burg vs West
Question about the packed stadium at 2am. Were there still Wheelersburg people sitting on the visitors side?

One, he stated he’s been trolling Burg football since 2004.
Two, no self-respecting Burg fan would ever attached “1-15 Pendelton broke Wheelersburg football RIP” to their posts.
That’s an insult to coach Miller, coach Hall, Burg players, the town, the school.

Burg fights to avoid 5 and 5 and keep slight playoff hopes alive. From "superior coaching and culture" to R19 bubble team.
