Playoff Round 1: #10 Waverly' (5-5) vs. #7 Fairfield Union (6-4)

Post by Zahns Corner »

This appears to be the matchup for Waverly.

Fairfield Union has momentum with 4 straight wins:

Waverly is limping into the playoffs with three straight losses:

Are the Tigers one and done or can they make a game of it?
Also it looks like Waverly would not have made the playoffs if they and Unioto were still assigned to Region 16

Idk if Waverly will win but this is definitely better than them playing Bishop Ready or Alder. Probably best case draw outside of Logan Elm

Not a bad draw for Waverly but F. Union has played some tough opponents on the season. Looking at the highlight videos doesn't seem like Fairland has a lot of size but does look like they can be pretty balanced on offense. Let's go with Waverly by 7

Watching the highlights of Fairfield I don't know that it would be an upset, I think this is a 7-10 matchup that is a coin toss and I don't know that Fairfield has the players on the outside to handle Waverly's passing attack

Geaux Tigs. It’s all about match up and how the cards fell and this was favorable. Next week may be the end of the line as they’ll take on one of what I think are the favorites to win this region

Tigers hold on for the 28-21 victory.
Felt more like a 35-14 type game but we’ll take the win.

No such thing as an ugly win. Now a mountain to climb for next round
