I’ll still stick to my guns that Burg wins this. I’m just not sold on the teams that Barnesville has beaten. Monroe Central hasn’t beaten anyone of note and Union Local which played St Clairsville close and beat a good Indian Creek team.
If Burg plays like they did against West I have no worries they can win

After watching Barnesville/Union local, Barnesville is just too much.
Without the turnovers that week 10 matchup may have been a little different. Turnovers and when and where turnovers occur are huge in games where teams are fairly evenly matched

Portsmouth West won 3 games this season by less than a TD. Those 3 teams have a combined record of 9-21. West is a lot closer to a 3-7 team than to an 8-2 team.

Turnovers impact the results of football games? Wow, that’s brilliant!!!

You need to tour the country sharing that information with coaches at all levels. Doubt they are aware of this fact.

Now as for the West-Burg game, I would assume that you, being a Burg fan, would be delighted by the outcome. But since you are just a troll, as you have stated, this result is upsetting to you.

“But if this happened instead of that, then this and that instead of that and then…”. LOL!!

We don’t have to speculate on West’s record. Don’t have to play silly “if this, then that” scenarios. West finished 7-3! Not 3-7, not 8-2. They finished 7-3. Doesn’t get much simpler than that.

Regular season is over, and now it’s playoff time. All teams involved have the chance to prove themselves overrated/underrated per their final record.

The trolls are out in force.

Here they are on a thread about Burg versus Barnesville randomly going off about West, turnovers in that game, and West’s record. LOL!!

Regardless how good/bad West is, that means nothing when Burg travels to Barnesville. Burg has a tough opponent waiting for them and better bring their A game if they want a shot at winning this.

Burgs team is healthy and better since the beginning of the season as usual. Friday will determine if they are good enough to handle the top of the region. Barnesville is one of the top teams. I don’t care who they played. I’ve watched them. They can play

#26 will be the best running back burg has seen all year. They better be ready to play right off the bus.

I've never claimed Burg is superior to anyone. Trolls should go back to where they came from. I don't have to claim anything. Been a Burg fan since 89 when I moved there. Have since moved away but still follow them. Very proud of the kids and the community. Barnesville has a good program. Nobody is calling this game a pushover. Anyone who knows football that is that's not a troll. Is this game going to be streamed?

I understood exactly what you were trying to do: downplay West’s record and, in turn, downplay Burg’s win.

They also played the #4 in this region to a 12-6 score. I’m almost certain you’d take Prep over Barnesville. Now I understand Burg wasn’t competitive against McNicholas and Ironton they did play Jackson close who again I would say beats Barnesville. You switch those twos schedules and the records would mirror what they are now just inverse

No way the coaches and culture allow this Burg team to finish 6-5 and lose in round 1.

I might just do that, thanks for the compliment
My troll comment was sarcasm :D
Look you don’t believe me about me being a burg fan, that’s ok
But 99% of my almost 4000 post over almost 20 yrs are on burg topics and probably 95% are positive. Actually longer than that, probably since early-mid 90’s maybe(site crashed in 2004 and everything was lost and everyone had to reregister) If the other 4% bugs you that’s ok, I’ll somehow get over it
Now to the game, yes burg played a good game, kids played hard. I asked earlier if they changed who was calling the offensive plays because I thought they called a very good game and just wasn’t sure if something may have changed with the play calling

If you were referring to my comment it was actually about barnseville week 10 game, might want to look at it again.

After seeing them a few times definitely going to have to go with Barnesville here, but during playoffs anything goes. Excited for all the results Friday night.

Pulling for the Pirates and the SOC, but the Shamrocks may be just a bit too much.

If Burg plays like they did against Prep, they will be there at the end.

Barnesville 27
Burg 19

Im sure Barnesville would love to beat Burg since Burg has knocked them out of the playoffs 2 years in a row and maybe this is their year for some revenge or maybe not but i do believe that Barnesville should be in region 17 cause no team or teams should have to travel 3 hours to play but Burg has done it before and won and I read on a post that #26 for Barnesville will be the best back that Burg has seen all year but i will have to disagree with that cause Ironton has Sean Terry and the Williams kid in their backfield and HP had a very good back plus Jackson had a big bruising back that Burg faced so I would have to say that Burg will be ready and that Burg is the best team that Barnesville has faced all season so good luck to both teams for an injury free game and safe travels to all the Burg faithful and GO BURG!!!

Best of luck to all area teams, especially the Pirates, Senators and Trojans. Each team has found a way to get it done, or else they wouldn't bw in the position they are in the playoffs

This looks like the team for ironton that may be able to win it all (finally)…would only take what, 5 kids with D1 offers to get it done? interesting that they had to bring in an ex Pirate…let’s see if he can get it done for em…
